Hello, we wanted to send a quick reminder about our Open House this Sunday, February 1st, from 1-3 pm. This is your opportunity to meet the teachers, tour the classrooms, and get tuition/enrollment information. We currently have openings for 12 infants, 24 toddlers, and 20 primary aged children. We are accepting deposits for enrollment at the open house. We are excited to see everyone there!

We would like to remind you about our annual Open House, which will be held on Sunday, February 1st, 2026 at 1:00 pm. You will have the opportunity to meet the teachers and get information needed for enrollment for the 2026/2027 school year. Classroom spots will be reserved on a first come, first serve basis. To reserve a spot, at the Open House you will need to fill out an application, and leave us with a check deposit for $1,000, which will come off of tuition. Venmo/Zelle will not be accepted for deposits.

Community Update: Overwhelming Opposition to Chick-fil-A

On Saturday, we welcomed former Detroit Police Chief & mayoral candidate James Craig to The Giving Tree Montessori to hear directly from our families, staff, neighbors, and local small businesses about the proposed Chick-fil-A drive-thru next door.

Chief Craig walked the site, spoke with parents, and listened to powerful stories about how this development would impact our school and community. He shared his visit publicly—because this deserves real attention.

Survey data recently shared by Councilmember Latisha Johnson shows:
83% of District 4 residents oppose this development
85% of respondents from surrounding communities oppose it as well
And yet, the project continues to move forward, despite its location directly next to a school serving infants & toddlers.

We’re grateful to everyone who showed up and spoke out. This is a meaningful step, and we’re not done. We’ll keep pushing for transparency, accountability, and the safety of our children.

Hello Everyone!
We had an amazing turnout at our annual Open House held on Sunday, February 5, 2023. Our enrollment is officially closed for the 2023-2024 school year as there are no more spots available. We are looking forward to a successful ending of another wonderful year. Also, a reminder that summer camp enrollment is full and we can't wait to begin the summer fun! Thank you!

Greetings and Happy Holidays to all!
We will be closed Monday January 16th, 2023 due to the observance of Martin Luther King day. This will also be a professional development day for our staff. Our annual Open House will be held on Sunday February 5th, 2023. For infant/toddler aged children, the hours will be 1:00pm-3:00pm. For primary aged children, the hours will be 3:00pm-5:00pm. Currently, in our Montessori curriculum, we offer yoga and Spanish to our primary aged children and Spanish to our toddler aged children. In addition to our standard curriculum, we offer tennis and theatre. Reminder to all our current families, our tennis program for primary and toddler aged children will begin on January 9th, 2023. Thank you all and we are looking forward to seeing you on Monday January 9th, 2023.
