Sometimes the skills our students are learning aren’t how to weld, or buff out a dent, or wire a robot—but they’re learning how to speak in front of adults and share their ideas for how they’ll move through the world as young professionals—all good prep for college interviews and a job placement one day. We hosted a meeting of Deans of Culture from buildings across the district, and our students were ready to impress!

Our student organizations at Breithaupt invite you to participate in a toy drive! We have partnered with a local church to provide toys to children in need and would love to have our community join in! Our Auto Service students hard at work! The attention to detail as they learn to check in a customer’s care is the lesson of the day. Note the clipboard as they make note of fluid levels, air pressure, and any cosmetic imperfections on the vehicle. Learning to do the customer facing part of the job is just as important as knowing the technical skills for the repairs, and our Breithaupt students will be ready when they’re hired for their first job in the industry. #

Our Cosmetology students had a spa day to put into practice the skills they are learning in our PM session that focuses on the manicuring portion of their cosmetology license. #

It’s hard to say what the best bite was…was it the French onion soup? The pumpkin cheesecake? Grilled vegetable wraps? French dip sandwich? Michigan Cherry salad? (My vote was the caramel pecan ice cream…but don’t tell our students, we aren’t supposed to have favorites!)

The devil is in the details! Our culinary students are doing the last minute prep in their areas to be ready to open our first buffet of the season! Ingredients being memorized, place settings being prepared, food prep and more. We are so proud to invite 61 guests to our school today to enjoy an intimate dining experience full of soups, salads, sandwiches, and desserts. All prepared with care and love by THE Beautiful Breithaupt students. Happy Harvest from our family to yours.

October is COLLEGE MONTH! Our Seniors met with key staff members this week to begin their journey toward their post-secondary goals. We’ll meet with them in large groups and individually throughout the year to be sure they have everything ready to start their young adult lives confidently. What is YOUR number one tip for our seniors? What do you wish you had known as you started your adult life?

Our mission statement at Breithaupt is that our students will gain skilled training, attain industry credentials to be employable, and become leaders in today’s workforce. Creating partnerships with and helps our staff know exactly what employers are looking for and allows our students to have access to paid internships and certifications before they graduate from highschool.

It’s NACHO regular count day at Breithaupt today. We know every school day it is important to be in school and on time. Today our culinary students helped us celebrate being in school.
