Honoring the legacy of Earl G. Graves Sr., a trailblazer in Black entrepreneurship and media. As the founder of Black Enterprise, he dedicated his life to empowering Black businesses, creating economic opportunities, and advocating for financial literacy. His impact continues to inspire generations of leaders and innovators.
A true visionary, Graves showed us the power of ownership, perseverance, and excellence. Let’s carry his legacy forward!

More than just the wife of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Coretta Scott King was a force of her own. She was a civil rights leader, activist, and advocate for justice, peace, and equality.
After Dr. King’s assassination, she carried the movement forward, founding the King Center and fighting for the national holiday in his honor. Her activism expanded beyond racial justice—she championed women’s rights, LGBTQ+ rights, and global human rights until her last days.
Her voice, her power, and her resilience continue to inspire generations. Her legacy lives on.

Before there was a Supreme Court Justice Thurgood Marshall, there was a young lawyer fighting for justice in the courtroom. He was the legal powerhouse behind Brown v. Board of Education (1954)—the case that ended segregation in schools and changed America forever.

Honoring Frederick Douglass
Abolitionist. Orator. Writer. Freedom Fighter.
Born into slavery, Frederick Douglass defied all odds to become one of the most powerful voices for justice and equality. His autobiography, Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass, an American Slave, exposed the brutal reality of slavery and became a cornerstone of the abolitionist movement.
Douglass believed in the power of education, self-determination, and activism, famously stating:
“If there is no struggle, there is no progress.”
His legacy continues to inspire those fighting for justice today. Let’s honor his impact and keep his message alive!

Today, we celebrate the iconic Nina Simone—singer, songwriter, pianist, and activist—whose music transcended genres and generations. Known as the “High Priestess of Soul,” Nina’s voice was raw, powerful, and deeply emotional, capturing the essence of the Black experience, freedom, and resistance.
From “Feeling Good” to “Mississippi Goddam,” her music was more than just art—it was a movement. She fearlessly spoke truth to power, using her platform to fight for civil rights and justice. Her influence can still be heard in the voices of artists today

Today, we honor the incredible Alice Walker—an author, poet, and activist whose words have shaped generations. Best known for her Pulitzer Prize-winning novel The Color Purple, Walker’s storytelling amplifies the voices of Black women, highlighting their strength, resilience, and journeys of self-discovery.
Beyond her literary genius, she has been a lifelong advocate for civil rights, feminism, and justice. Her work reminds us of the power of storytelling in transforming lives and challenging the status quo

Garrett Morgan was a true innovator! From the gas mask to the three-position traffic signal, his inventions have saved countless lives. A Black inventor who paved the way for safer streets and workplaces.
