This summer the International Institute of Metropolitan Detroit is teaming with City Camp and The World in America, to bring Around the World Summer Day Camp. This affordable camp’s program provides unforgettable experiences to Michigan children & youth ages 4 ½- 13. Our curriculum is designed for campers to have fun in an educational setting that will help them to think globally and act locally. Our goals are: to help kids value and protect the planet, become honorary citizens of the world and ambassadors of peace, and to learn to how to build bridges of harmony, unity, peace and understanding in our global community.

We offer a variety of programs that will take place at the Mother of Perpetual Help in Oak Park located at 13500 Oak Park Blvd, Oak Park, MI 48237. Parents and their children can chose from one week to summer long endless fun. Registration available online: www.detroitsummercamp.com. Camp dates:

Jun 18th to Aug 24th 2018,
Mon. - Fri. 9 a.m.to 5 p.m.
(early drop off 7:00 am & late pick up till 6:00 p.m. available).

Camp facilitators are trained educators selected from Michigan and around the world. Each facilitator will also have intensive background checks and training. Facilitators are matched with International Youth Leaders (IYL) (ages 14-17) who assist with classroom prep, camper engagement and classroom management. IYL Youth will be eligible to receive reference letters for colleges and university scholarships upon successful completion of the program.

All summer long, campers experience fun and educational activities such as: Hands-on Global Arts & Crafts Activities * Breakfast & Lunches *Etiquette Training, *Cultural Presentations by International Educators *Folk/National Games, Music and Dance Instruction *Basic communication in Several of the World’s Language, *Visits to Ethic Communities & Museums and Historic Buildings * Youth Day at Bell Isle * Sports *Swimming *Martial Arts *Drama * Trips *Academics (Math, Science, Language Arts

This is an exciting opportunity for all campers to socialize, interact, explore and learn about our ever-changing world. Free breakfast and lunch with a taste of international ethnic cuisine are included in the affordable price. Indoor/outdoor activities and trips including visits to area museums, ethnic attractions, water parks, horseback riding, and more make the summer diverse and fun. Campers who complete 5 weeks of this summer long camp will receive a certificate of achievement as Citizens of the World and Ambassadors of Peace in a special Family Fun Day by the end of the camp.

I know that the International youth leadership is out there. It's just making me concern and sad that they not coming in the rate I expected when I founded their program at the International Institute and when I started them at Wayne State University as Student's Organization. Please help us in scouting them. They are the only hope this planet have to survive. WE need them to make our World better place.
