A huge thank you to the Michigan Osteopathic Association for having me as a speaker at their annual fall conference! π
The event took place at Grand Valley State Universit in beautiful Grand Rapids, Michigan. π«
I was able to speak to over 100 physicians about the growing and dynamic direct primary care model, and our work at Plum Health DPC π©π»ββοΈπ©Ίπ©»
Speaking at events like these is an honor and privilege, and I am so happy to uplift this model that puts patientβs first and lowers the cost of care in the process. ππΌππΌ
The direct primary care movement is real, growing, dynamic, and gaining momentum as more and more doctors and patients elect this type of care π―

We had a fantastic interview on WILX News 10 in Lansing about our growing Plum Health DPC practice in Lansing, Corunna, Van Buren, Detroit, and Royal Oak! π¬ π₯
Our interviewer was the incomparable WILX Rachelle Legrand - she brought a wealth of great questions and insights into the model that made for a fun and informative interview. π€
We touched on how Plum Health is helping individuals, families, small businesses, and large public school districts like Lansing, Grand Ledge, Corunna, Van Buren, Mason, Eaton Rapids, and others with affordable, accessible, and excellent primary care services! π©π»ββοΈπ₯Όπ©Ί
For larger, self-funded employer groups like those school districts in mid-Michigan, our Plum Health provider team can help them save a tremendous amount of money on their annual health care spend by
-preventing urgent care visits βοΈ
-preventing emergency department visits β€
-providing low costs lab work (saving 50% to 90% versus hospital lab prices) π§ͺ
-providing low cost medications on a formulary (saving 50% to 90% versus retail pharamcy prices) π
-providing procedures like skin biopsies, laceration repairs, and pap testing that can be extremely costly through insurance-based clinics πͺ‘
-providing honest to goodness time with patients, allowing for enough time to be spent on care, which can reduce referrals to specialists and downstream costs incurred therein π©Ί

3.) You can't differentiate your service with a compelling value proposition
4.) You don't understand how to manage the finances/business side of your DPC practice
5.) You don't get the support you need from other practices or hospital systems
