A huge thank you to the Michigan Osteopathic Association for having me as a speaker at their annual fall conference! 🍁

The event took place at Grand Valley State Universit in beautiful Grand Rapids, Michigan. 🏫

I was able to speak to over 100 physicians about the growing and dynamic direct primary care model, and our work at Plum Health DPC 👩🏻‍⚕️🩺🩻

Speaking at events like these is an honor and privilege, and I am so happy to uplift this model that puts patient’s first and lowers the cost of care in the process. 🙌🏼🙌🏼

The direct primary care movement is real, growing, dynamic, and gaining momentum as more and more doctors and patients elect this type of care 💯

We had a fantastic interview on WILX News 10 in Lansing about our growing Plum Health DPC practice in Lansing, Corunna, Van Buren, Detroit, and Royal Oak! 🎬 🎥

Our interviewer was the incomparable WILX Rachelle Legrand - she brought a wealth of great questions and insights into the model that made for a fun and informative interview. 🎤

We touched on how Plum Health is helping individuals, families, small businesses, and large public school districts like Lansing, Grand Ledge, Corunna, Van Buren, Mason, Eaton Rapids, and others with affordable, accessible, and excellent primary care services! 👩🏻‍⚕️🥼🩺

For larger, self-funded employer groups like those school districts in mid-Michigan, our Plum Health provider team can help them save a tremendous amount of money on their annual health care spend by

-preventing urgent care visits ⚕️

-preventing emergency department visits ☤

-providing low costs lab work (saving 50% to 90% versus hospital lab prices) 🧪

-providing low cost medications on a formulary (saving 50% to 90% versus retail pharamcy prices) 💊

-providing procedures like skin biopsies, laceration repairs, and pap testing that can be extremely costly through insurance-based clinics 🪡

Construction is complete on our Plum Health Royal Oak office!!! 🦺 🔨 🏥

We officially open our doors on Monday at 9 am and our fantastic Dr. Sharon Im will be seeing patients out of our Royal Oak office at that time 🚪 👩🏻‍⚕️ 🤝

It’s been a long journey, but we are beyond excited to deliver our affordable, accessible, and excellent primary care services to a broader community 🙌🏼💜💯

Flashback Friday to last week in Kansas City! ✈️

I got to talk with Shawn Martin executive vice president and chief executive officer of the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) about the growing direct primary care movement 📈

The conference had 5000 attendees, 1,600 medical students and 1,300 residents 👨‍🎓 👩‍🎓 👩🏻‍⚕️ 👨‍⚕️

It was an honor to talk with them about direct primary care - the model and the movement - and how it’s making a tangible difference in the lives of our patients and communities 💯

The best part of the conference was hearing the stories, hopes, and aspirations of the med students and residents who are looking to remake our broken health care system via the promise and possibility of the Direct Primary Care model 🤝 👂🏼
