Congratulations to Dr. Burgess-Proctor on receiving the American Society of Criminology's Herbert Bloch Award! Dr. BP, a professor at Oakland University, taught CLS President Tiffany Storm's undergraduate Criminological Theory course. Thank you, Dr. BP, for your dedication to the field and your support of the Criminal Law Society!

It might be cold outside, but things got heated when CLS Vice President Alex Kay and President Tiffany Storm presented opposing arguments during a mock hearing this afternoon! Livingston County Prosecutor William Valliencourt acted as the Judge for the hearing, which was part of UDM’s Criminal Sentencing Course. A huge thank you to Mr. Valliencourt for joining us today. ⚖️

We have the best supporters! Huge thank you to my undergrad CJ professor, Dr. Heraux, for sending his old cell phone for the Women’s Law Caucus cell phone drive. The phone will be refurbished and used to support programs working to end domestic violence.

You just can’t say no to a pizza buffet. Especially when it benefits Focus:HOPE.

We are so thankful to have cosponsored UDM Law’s Take Back the Night event. Thank you to all who came to learn more about domestic violence across cultures, and an extra special thank you to our speakers - UDM’s Professor Vernon, Jay Kaplan of the Michigan ACLU, and the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office Domestic Violence Division.

If you are in need of assistance, please visit the 211 website (http://www.211.org) or call 211 to be connected with resources and organizations.
