🎶 What a Weekend at LONG PLAY!

We are still buzzing from an incredible afternoon of music this past Saturday, May 2, at the BRIC Stoop as part of the Bang on a Can LONG PLAY Festival!
Our Concert Ensemble took the stage to perform a stunning, all-commissioned program featuring world-renowned contemporary voices.

Led by Founder & Artistic Director Dianne Berkun Menaker, our choristers performed an evocative repertoire:

- "so quietly" and "Its Motion Keeps" by Pulitzer Prize-winner Caroline Shaw
- "Truth is told, not fed" and "A Space Exploration with No Suit" by Alev Lenz
- The WORLD PREMIERE of "in atlantis," a deeply moving piece exploring climate data and emotional landscapes, alongside "Bubbles" by Aleksandra Vrebalov

A huge thank you to Bang on a Can and all the audience members who packed the BRIC Stoop to share this celebration of new music with us. It was a beautiful afternoon exploring truth, resilience, and our connection to the world around us.

What an incredible afternoon! 🎶 The inaugural Bed-Stuy Choral Festival was a resounding success, and our hearts are still full from the music we made together.

A massive thank you to the historic Concord Baptist Church for providing such a stunning and welcoming home for our singers in the heart of Bed-Stuy. We are also so grateful to the Brooklyn Children’s Chorus from CHMS for joining us—it was an absolute privilege to share the stage and make harmony with you!

To every student who raised their voice, every family who cheered from the pews, and every educator who helped make this happen: thank you for creating magic with us. We’re already counting down the days until we can do it all again next year! ✨
