Great efforts to serve all..... right here at home.

DPH has launched three new Mobile Health Units (MHUs) to extend public health services to more people across South Carolina.

The MHUs aim to improve access to preventive care, health resources and testing, ensuring that public health services are more available and convenient for all South Carolinians. These units serve as mobile public health clinics, offering a range of essential public health services such as vaccinations, family planning and STD testing and treatment.

Meet Our Team's Communications Intern, Chloe Neal!

Chloe is a rising senior at USCB majoring in Psychology with a minor in Human Services. She is currently a communications intern at USCB Center for Human Services Evaluation. She plays a vital role in the team, creating engaging infographics about farming, agriculture facts, and additional information about our key partners. She also assists in planning and outreach activities. Moving forward, her future plans are to graduate in the Spring and begin graduate school to pursue a degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders. After completing graduate school, she plans to work towards becoming a Speech Language Pathologist.

Vivian Elston is a senior undergraduate at the University of South Carolina Beaufort (USCB), Majoring in Sociology with a Minor in Human Services. She is a Research and Evaluation Assistant at the USCB Center for Human Services Evaluation (CHSE), which supports the USDA’s data collection efforts for the Southeast Regional Food Business Center (SERFBC). Her responsibilities include assisting with the design, implementation, and maintenance of data collection methods, as well as organizing and ensuring the accuracy of data collection.

Vivian’s current focus centers on research and advocacy that promotes systemic reform, particularly within the foster care and juvenile justice systems. After completing her undergraduate studies, she plans to pursue an MA/PhD in Sociology, with aspirations to work in policy analysis and development. Through her internship, she aims to strengthen her research and analytical skills to help design effective, evidence-based solutions that lead to meaningful institutional change.
