Today, the 7th and 8th grade students in Mrs. Richardson's class took on the role of healthcare professionals as they worked to keep their patients in homeostasis!
Students were challenged to maintain proper fluid levels and healthy patient color, quickly discovering that patient care requires strong communication, critical thinking, and teamwork. Throughout the activity, our future medical professionals worked together to make important decisions and respond to changes in their patients' conditions.
It was amazing to watch students collaborate, problem-solve, and support one another as they worked to keep their patients healthy. By the end of the lesson, they had a much deeper understanding of how the body's systems work together to maintain balance and why teamwork is so important in the healthcare field.

π€π Today in Mrs. Richardsonβs classes, students practiced their communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills through the "Saving Fred" challenge!
After Fred (a gummy worm) fell out of his boat and lost his life jacket, student teams were tasked with getting him safely back into the boat using only a Life Saver, paper clips, and teamwork. The catch? They could only use the paper clips to help Fred!
This fun activity sparked great conversations as students worked together to plan, communicate, and solve problems. Communication is especially important in healthcare careers, where teamwork, listening, and clearly sharing information can directly impact patient safety and quality care. Today's challenge gave students a hands-on opportunity to practice these essential skills while having fun!
π Great job to all of our future healthcare professionals and problem-solvers!
