It is with a heavy heart that I announce the closing of Bluffton Academy for the Arts. BAA is so proud of the incredible progress our students have made over the past four years. During that time, BAA has seen our students and alumni perform throughout the community with such organizations as Main Stage Community Theatre and the Arts Center of Coastal Carolina, receive acceptances to exemplary summer programs including the SC Governor’s School for the Arts and Humanities and Southeastern Summer Theatre Institute, and go on to pursue year-round training at prestigious schools such as the Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet and the Joffrey Ballet School. In the best kind of full circle moment, one of our alumni visited several times this year from New York City to teach current BAA students.
We wish all our students continued growth and success in their chosen art form, and we cannot wait to watch them shine!
I would like to extend a special thanks to our Musical Theatre Director Sonya Jacobs, who brought her beautiful energy and encouraging teaching to build the MT program for BAA. Thanks to our dedicated full time Faculty, Nina Ricciardi and Joshua Hamilton, as well as our amazing Guest Artists. You have all enriched these students’ lives! Thank you to our Learning Coaches, Vesna Lane and Laura Jacobi, and thank you to Faculty Members and Guests Artists from past years. BAA will forever be grateful to everyone who has shared their knowledge with our students.
As we take our final bow, I congratulate all BAA alumni who have ever walked through our doors, and I will be cheering you on throughout your career and beyond. I will always be here for you!
Lastly, I ask all of you to please continue supporting arts and the young artists finding their way- - together we can keep the arts world thriving! --Meg Eberly, BAA Director

We were honored to be a part of the Hilton Head Ballroom Dance Studio Gotta Dance show last night. Bravo to Sandro, Armando and all the amazing performers for putting on such a creative and exciting show. We also had the chance to meet talented dancers from around our area.
We are so proud of the three BAA dancers who performed in the show. They choreographed and costumed the entire piece themselves and represented BAA beautifully. Isabella, Giadalyn and Robbie- - - great work!

From our Director, Meg Eberly:
“As Director of the Bluffton Academy for the Arts, I strive to create an environment where our students can progress faster in their chosen performing art, balancing their training and academics and receiving one-on-one guidance and support.
Why do I do what I do?
- I love sharing my passion for the performing arts
- I believe in each and every one of my students
- I want them to succeed in reaching their goals
I work to give every BAA student the best instructors as well the best opportunities for growth, and I support them throughout their training and beyond.
BAA doesn’t replace our students’ arts training- - it enhances it with additional training hours and real-world connections.”
Imagine how far you could go with more time to focus on your art! It’s not too late to enroll for the 23-24 school year starting August 21. Share this post with a young artist you know and contact us today!
