As we close out Autism Awareness Month, our students had an amazing time participating in our Fidget Factory! 🧩✨

Through designing and creating their own fidgets, students strengthened creativity and fine motor skills. They gained tools that support focus, self-regulation, and sensory needs—helping them succeed both in and out of the classroom. 💡👐

We are incredibly grateful to our parents who joined us and worked alongside their students. They made this experience even more meaningful! What a great way to end an AMAZING month!💙

🌎💙 Happy Earth Day! 💙🌎

Our students celebrated Earth Day this week with hands-on fun—painting their own Earths 🎨🌍, building fine motor skills through lacing 🧵✨, and strengthening problem-solving with puzzles 🧩.

These activities supported fine motor coordination, visual-motor integration, creativity, and cognitive skills in a meaningful and fun way!

We ended with a sweet treat 🍫🌳 as students made their own edible Earth Day tree snacks—encouraging creativity, following directions, and sensory exploration! 🌱💫

To celebrate Autism Awareness Month, our students had an amazing time getting creative and hands-on while designing their very own sensory tiles! 🎨✨

From choosing textures to arranging colors and patterns, this activity supported the development of fine motor skills, creativity, focus, and sensory exploration. It was also a great way to practice decision-making, coordination, and self-expression in a fun and meaningful way.

We love seeing our students shine while learning through play and creativity—their sensory tiles turned out incredible!💙🧩

Snack time meets skill-building! 🥨🍌🍫

This week for World Health Day, students created their own trail mix while strengthening important fine motor skills like scooping, pouring, and picking. 💪🖐️ This hands-on activity supports coordination, independence, and healthy choices—all while having fun!

From pretzels to raisins to a little chocolate treat, everyone got to customize their mix just the way they like it. 🥣✨

We love combining learning and life skills in ways that are engaging, meaningful, and delicious! 😄👏

Dear Beaufort County School District Families-

After consultation with Emergency Management regarding forecasted wind gusts of 75mph that prohibit the safe travel of school buses, BCSD will have an eLearning and remote workday tomorrow (Monday, 3/16/26). District buildings will be closed. All extracurricular activities tomorrow are cancelled. Normal operations will resume on Tuesday, 3/17/26.

Your child’s teacher and/or school will provide additional information about eLearning. Students will have five days to complete their e-learning assignments.

Please know BCSD doesn’t make these decisions lightly. We have many factors to consider especially inclement weather that prohibits the safe travel of school buses.

If you have any questions or concerns please reach out to [email protected].

Fun Friday was full of hands-on learning! 🎉

Today we had a great time creating sensory bottles—both slow-flow and hide-and-seek—while strengthening fine motor skills and coordination. This helps build focus, creativity, and motor development in a fun and engaging way. We love seeing learning come to life! 💙🐢

Welcome to High Road School at Beaufort County!

Yesterday we had the AMAZING opportunity to host our first Open House for prospective families that will be joining our Terrapin Family!

Parents, students, and Beaufort County School district officials learned about the supports available for students, toured classrooms, and checked out Terrapin Towers: our Life Skills Lab, where students can work on daily living skills.

We are looking forward to an amazing start to our program and the great things our students will accomplish!

And remember, a Terrapin always uses their SHELL…

S - to feel SAFE
H - to HELP
E - to EXPRESS themselves
L - to LEARN with confidence
L - to LIVE with courage
