NiuHomes, from PNG Forest Products, manufacture an extensive range of modular kit-set buildings for Education.

Their range of prefabricated school buildings include single and double-storey classrooms, including 3-in-1, 4-in-1 and the new 6-in-1 classroom; administration blocks, science laboratories, libraries, dormitories, ablution blocks, staff quarters and headmaster’s residence. PNGFP also manufacture school furniture including desks, science benches and even blackboards, and have supplied well over 1,000 School Buildings and hundreds of Education, Health and Administration facilities throughout PNG.

Engineered to PNG and Australian building codes, the quality and durability of these kit-set buildings is unique in this country due to PNGFP’s preservative pressure treatment, which fully protects the buildings from termites and rotting.

PNGFP NiuBuild continues to make strong progress on the Soroken Health Centre Project in Bougainville, with major construction works now nearing completion across the facility.

As of March 2026, all primary health buildings, including the OPD and Accident & Emergency Block, Maternity and Inpatient Ward, Surgical Ward, Operation Theatre, Administration Building, Family Support Centre, TB Transit Wards and Mothers’ Waiting Building, have reached 100% completion for structural framing, roofing, electrical and plumbing rough-ins, internal linings and external cladding.

The project also includes 18 staff houses and a range of supporting infrastructure, including the kitchen and laundry, morgue, workshop, generator shed and incinerator buildings, with external civil works such as roads, drainage, fencing and landscaping also well advanced.

Once completed, the Soroken Health Centre will deliver modern healthcare infrastructure that will significantly improve healthcare services for surrounding communities in Bougainville.

NiuDeck in Australia

Another successful railway bridge refurbishment has been completed in Australia using PNGFP’s NiuDeck bridge decking system.

The 135-metre rail bridge at Boosey Creek, Victoria, incorporated 113 NiuDeck panels, each measuring 1.2 meters wide and 232mm thick.

Designed for strength, durability and efficient installation, the system continues to demonstrate its suitability for major infrastructure projects.

A representative from the Australian Rail Track Corporation praised the result, stating, “The deck has been completed and it looks awesome.”
