In Mathematics, the Inductees had hands-on experience using mathematics manipulatives (concrete materials) to build a strong conceptual understanding of trading and regrouping. This emphasises the importance of students having opportunities to represent numbers in as many different ways as possible with concrete materials. This approach helps learners understand why and how numbers work before moving on to procedural understanding (algorithms). Our School Advisor, Ms. Caroline Moeder, ensured that all Inductees fully understood these important concepts (Learning with Understanding)
