Retirement marks the beginning of a new chapter — one that starts with preparation and informed financial decisions.

Nambawan Super recently conducted a retirement information session for 11 retirees from the Department of Finance, supporting them as they prepare to transition from the workforce into retirement.

The session provided guidance on retirement savings, member benefits, investment options, financial planning and the processes involved in accessing retirement benefits. It also gave retirees the opportunity to ask questions and receive information directly from Nambawan Super.

As they prepare for the next chapter, we thank the retirees for their years of service and contribution to the Department of Finance and the public sector.

Nambawan Super has commenced the third batch of Financial Literacy Training (FLT) for staff of the Department of Implementation and Rural Development (DIRD).

Today, participants covered Module 1: Managing Personal Finances, exploring practical ways to better understand, manage and plan their finances.

Our FLT program covers Modules 1–5, providing participants with practical knowledge on personal financial management, superannuation and planning for a financially secure future.

Thank you to the DIRD team for actively participating, asking questions and sharing experiences. We look forward to the sessions ahead.

How to use Nambawan Super’s SMS Balance Check

Smartphone or one-bang phone? It doesn’t matter! Check your balance in seconds.

There are two ways to check your balance:

Option 1: Full String USSD
1. Dial *661*Membership Number*PIN #
2. A pop-up will display your Super balance.
3. You will then receive an SMS with your more detailed account information.

Option 2: Prompt-based USSD
1. Dial *661 #
2. Enter your 6-digit Membership Number.
3. Enter your 4-digit PIN.
4. Your Super balance will appear in a pop-up, followed by an SMS with your more detailed account information.

Important: For security reasons, unlike in the past, the SMS Balance Check can only be accessed using the mobile number registered to your Nambawan Super account. If you are using a different mobile number, you will not be able to check your balance.

Not registered for SMS Balance Check?
Free Call 180 1599 or email [email protected] to confirm your registration. If you’re not registered, complete the SMS Balance and Internet Registration Form and email it to the Call Centre.

We are at Buka General Hospital today for a General Super Awareness session with the dedicated doctors, nurses and staff of the hospital.

Our Members had the opportunity to learn more about our products and services and ask questions about their superannuation accounts.

Today also marks our final day in beautiful AROB, as we conclude our engagements in the Autonomous Region of Bougainville.

It has been a meaningful time connecting with our Members and communities across Bougainville, sharing information, answering questions and strengthening our engagement.

Today, our team visited the Arawa School of Nursing to deliver a General Super Awareness session to the future nurses of Papua New Guinea.

As they prepare to begin their careers in the health sector, it is important for these future professionals to understand superannuation early and the role it will play in their financial future.

Starting the conversation early means starting the journey towards a financially secure and comfortable retirement.
