🥛💙 The Importance of Drinking Milk for Growing Children 💙🥛

As part of our World Milk Day celebrations, children across all Buk bilong Pikinini Library Learning Centers learned about the importance of drinking milk and how it supports healthy growth and development.

Milk is an important part of a child's diet as it provides essential nutrients such as calcium, protein, and vitamins that help build strong bones and teeth. For growing children, drinking milk can help support healthy development, provide energy for learning and play, and contribute to overall wellbeing. Learning about nutritious foods and healthy habits from an early age helps children make positive choices that can benefit them throughout their lives.

As part of the celebrations, children participated in fun and interactive nutrition awareness activities where they learned why milk is important for their growing bodies. They enjoyed educational games, arts and crafts, coloring activities engaging activities that reinforced healthy messages in a fun way.

Celebrating World Milk Day with Indomilk PNG 🥛

Buk bilong Pikinini’s Vabukori Library Learning Centre was delighted to attend the World Milk Day Celebration hosted at Taurama Aquatic Centre, where our children enjoyed a fun-filled morning of learning, movement, and healthy living.

As part of the global celebration of World Milk Day, our children had the opportunity to learn about the importance of milk and good nutrition while participating in exciting activities designed especially for children. From interactive presentations to energetic gymnastics sessions, there was plenty of laughter, learning, and fun throughout the day.

A heartfelt thank you to the Indomilk PNG Team & SVS team for organizing such a wonderful event and for promoting healthy nutrition among children. Your commitment to supporting children's health and wellbeing is truly appreciated.

Adding to the excitement the children were thrilled to receive Indomilk goodie bags and enjoy delicious cupcakes as part of the celebrations. It was wonderful to see so many smiling faces as they learned, played, and celebrated together.

Thanks to POM Gymnastics for hosting the event and facilitating engaging gymnastics workshops that kept the children active, confident, and entertained.

Special thanks to St John Ambulance PNG for being on standby throughout the event and ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all participants.

We also appreciate The National Online for helping share the importance of nutrition and healthy living with the wider community, and Budget Rent-A-Car PNG for providing transportation and logistical support.

✨ Biscuits, creativity, costumes, and BIG smiles! ✨
Our Buk bilong Pikinini Library Learning Centres (LLCs) in Port Moresby and Lae were bursting with excitement as students celebrated World Biscuit Day today with the incredible support of Lae Biscuit Company (LBC)! 🎉

From biscuit colouring-in and decorating activities to fun learning games and delicious treats, students enjoyed a day full of laughter, creativity, and hands-on fun.

At BbP’s St Steven LLC in Lae, proudly sponsored by The Chow Foundation, the charitable arm of the Lae Biscuit Company, the celebrations were even sweeter with the LBC team joining in the festivities! Students came dressed as some of LBC’s popular biscuit brands, turning the centre into a colourful and joyful biscuit parade. 🍪👒✨

Students also sampled the newly launched Lewa Cookies line along with other popular Lae Biscuit Co biscuits, while learning important healthy lifestyle messages, reminding children that biscuits can be enjoyed alongside healthy foods like fruits, vegetables, eggs, and peanut butter for a balanced snack, along with the importance of regular tooth brushing after eating biscuits to keep little smiles healthy and bright. 🦷🍎

As part of our Nutrition Education Program, children are learning the importance of healthy eating and how nutritious foods help them grow strong, stay active, and perform better in their learning. A healthy breakfast helps improve focus, concentration, participation, and supports overall wellbeing during early childhood development.

Through their generous support with Weet-Bix and Oat milk, children across 3 of our Library Learning Centres are able to start their mornings with a healthy and nutritious breakfast before Learning.

This helps children build healthy habits while improving concentration and participation during literacy and learning sessions.

We are grateful for partnering with us to support healthier, happier, and brighter futures for our PNG children. 💙✨

Thank you to BNBM for their generous donation of electrical appliances to support Buk bilong Pikinini’s Nutrition Education Program (NEP) across our Library Learning Centers in Port Moresby and Lae.

Through the program, children are learning the importance of healthy eating, balanced meals, hygiene, and developing good lifelong habits from an early age.
