NCD Traffic Police Drive Test – Updated Report
Poro Driving School (January–April 2026)
Poro Driving School has been working closely with NCD Traffic Police to conduct driver testing for its clients since its establishment in 2021. All learners who undergo training at our school are required to sit for a Theory Test on road safety. Upon successfully passing the theory component, learners proceed to the Practical Driving Test.
Candidates who pass both the theory and practical tests are issued a report, which they can present to MVIL, RTA, or CPTA to obtain their driver’s license.
Between January and April 2026, Poro Driving School facilitated driver testing for a total of 55 learners:
11 learners failed the Theory Test, of which 6 returned and successfully retook the test.
9 learners failed the Practical Driving Test, with 3 returning to successfully retake the test.
To date, we have successfully trained and tested 44 new drivers who have obtained their Provisional Class 1 Driver’s License. These drivers are equipped with knowledge of traffic laws, road signs, and safe driving practices.
Poro Driving School remains committed to promoting road safety awareness and emphasizes the importance of responsible driving to ensure the safety of all road users and pedestrians.

INCREASE IN FUEL PRICES
8/4/26
The increase in fuel prices will definitely affect businesses and operations of many.
For instance, yesterday K100 petrol ⛽️ is about 22L. Today 8/4/26 I refuel K40 petrol . Which means K100 petrol ⛽️ 16L.
How can we manage our operations?
The GoPNG should subsidies the increase.

*TRAFFIC ENFORCEMENT AWARENESS CONTINUES*
The Royal Papua New Guinea Constabulary extends its appreciation to Waigani Police officers and Community Watch volunteers for their continued efforts. Their awareness on traffic laws and penalties has reached many vehicle owners and contributed to improved compliance. Community support remains vital in maintaining safety and order on our roads.
A reminder to all drivers: do not attempt to avoid enforcement officers. Police will be conducting random stop-and-search operations rather than fixed roadblocks to apprehend offenders. Those found breaching traffic laws will be dealt with accordingly.
Motorists are urged to follow all traffic rules, ensure vehicles are roadworthy, and carry proper documentation at all times. Compliance is the best way to avoid penalties and ensure safety for everyone.

10 HECTARES IMPOUND YARD INSPECTED AND READY FOR UNROADWORTHY VEHICLES IN NCD/CENTRAL COMMAND.
Today, Max Umbu, ACP Benjamin Turi, and RTA CEO John Avira conducted an inspection of a 10-hectare land that will be used as the impound yard for the Special Traffic Operations aimed at removing unroadworthy vehicles in NCD and Central. That includes taxis and buses.
To vehicle owners: the yard is too big. Get your vehicles fixed, or you will regret it when they reach this yard.
