DWUWHSA OFFICIAL STATEMENT

On behalf of the Divine Word University Western Highlands Students Association (DWUWHSA), we extend our heartfelt acknowledgment and best wishes to Mr. Baffinu Bradley Wak, Independent Candidate for the DEI Open By-Election 2025.

Mr. Wak has been more than a public figure and a parent to us; he has been a steadfast pillar of guidance and support to the students at Divine Word University. Over the past several years, and continuing to the present, he has faithfully served as the Patron of DWUWHSA, walking closely with student leaders and the wider student body. Through his mentorship, encouragement, provision of resources, and continuous support, he has consistently demonstrated a strong commitment to youth development, education, and leadership.

His active and consistent involvement with our association reflects his genuine dedication to empowering young people and investing in the future of our society. These values strongly resonate with the aspirations of students, not only within DWU but also across the wider Dei District.

As he steps forward to contest the DEI Open Seat in the 2025 By-Election, DWUWHSA acknowledges all intending candidates and respectfully wishes Mr. Baffinu Bradley Wak the very best in his campaign. May his journey be guided by wisdom, integrity, and a true heart for service.

DWUWHSA stands proud of our Patron and wishes him every success.

If this were a Regional By-Election for Western Highlands Province, we would call upon all Western Highlanders to unite in support of his campaign and election. However, as this is a District-level election for Dei, we encourage DWU students from Dei District to take the lead in showing their appreciation and support, in recognition of the contributions he has made—especially to our association.

While some of us may have relatives or personal connections among other contestants, we urge everyone to reflect carefully and cast their votes wisely.

Your choice, your future.

A big thank you to our 2025 executive team for your hard work, commitment, and service to DWU WHSA. You have been great leaders and role models for all of us. We truly appreciate everything you have done for our association.

Welcome to our 2026 executives!

We are happy to welcome our new 2026 executive team, led by Raymond Jonah as president. Raymond was our treasurer in 2025 and also served in the Highlands Regional Cultural Committee. Together with the new team, he is ready to lead with unity, positivity, and a heart to serve.

To all WHSA members, let’s continue to support each other and work together to make 2026 a year of growth and success for our association.

To our final-year students, we wish you all the best in your future career plans. Keep shining and never stop chasing your dreams!

It is with great pleasure that we share some exciting news with you, which requires your cooperation and participation.

By now, all of you have witnessed the exceptional leadership of our very own SRC President, Mr. McKoi Malt. He has been an outstanding student rep who has initiated significant changes, particularly in policy reform and giving power back to the SRC body.

In his term as president, he has shown remarkable commitment and dedication to student affairs and institutional progress. However, he will soon complete his studies and may not be here to enjoy the fruit of his labor since his final year is near.

With that, we am please to announce to you all that in this year's SRC election, one of our very own and true son of WHP has raised his hand to contest for the SRC President for this year moving on to next year.

He does not need any formal introduction since you all know him and heard him on many special occasions organized by this very institution and other programs on campus as well.

With the full endorsement and support of the WHSA Club and our Club president, Mr. Wilson Pati, we present you Mr. Ken Jacob Pungi, as one of the intending candidates for the 2026 DWU Presidential Contestant.

Your support won't be an act of nepotism or tribalism. As you all know, Mr. Jacob is an outspoken person who has the leadership quality to get the job done.

As the Western Highlanders, we wholeheartedly request that we unite as one and support our brother.
