Lest We Forget 👑

Today we remember

Today, we stand together to honour Remembrance Day in Papua New Guinea.
We remember the brave men and women from our country who fought and sacrificed their lives. From the Kokoda Track to the many other theatres of war in our country, their courage will never be forgotten.

On this day, we also remember the many innocent Papua New Guineans who risked their lives during World War II. They sheltered and hid wounded soldiers from a war they had little understanding of, which was fought on their land. We honour the many innocent people who lost their lives, the faithful missionaries who cared for the sick, and our brave people who scouted the terrain to support Allied forces.

The Bible reminds us of this deep love and sacrifice:
"Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends." - John 15:13

PNG will always remember your sacrifice.

Percy Kiki, from Tubusereia Village, is a Year 2 Bachelor of Business Studies (Accountancy & Management) student at Divine Word University and currently serves as the Secretary of the Association.

Captured during the warm-up session on Day 1 of the 2026 Intervarsity Games, Percy proudly represents the DWU Saints on the basketball court. 🏀🫶👑
