To: All ex Year 3s of 2020, 2921, 2022, 2023 and 2024

1. This is an important notice to all former year 3 students who are awaiting graduation. The Governing Council and administration of the KLTC wish to apologize to all of you of the long delay. We tentatively suggested February 13th as day for graduation and this date is NOT possible for the following reasons given here below;
a. The vetting took longer than expected.
b. Academic Board approved it and the Governing Council endorsed it yesterday 3rd of February. There were two categories of students: Eligible and Queried.
• The name of those who were eligible will be sent to Port Moresby for DHERST and NED Secretaries for approval and printing of their PRC or Provisional Registration certificates. The graduation will be after the printing of PRC. The graduation date is now differed to a later date.
• Those who are on query list will have to fix their documents and other things as required in preparation or their graduation in November or December, 2025. The query list is now published and put on the Notice for your awareness and action. The eligible list is not going to be published as it must be approved by the two secretaries first. But you can work it out. If your name is not in the other, it is in the other one.
2. The Governing Council and Administration are not concerned about graduation because they have Diploma to give you. But, they are concerned about your employment therefore, they worked very hard to do your vetting and have your PRC printed for you so you can use it for employment.
3. There will be no student left behind, if you are eligible, prepare for your graduation. If you are on query list, get your documents and things in order that the vetting committee wanted you do and by October, your names will be sent to Port Moresby for approval and printing of your PRC for your graduation in November, 2025. See Rev. Berry for advice.
4. For outstanding fees and other requirements, see the accounts office to fix it. No certificates will be given out until these debts are settled.
5. There are many students who did not complete their course or deregistered for various reasons, you have grace period of two years. Year 2s have this year 2025 only to readmitted and complete their studies. Year 3s have this year 2025 and next year 2026 to complete their study. In 2027 all will start as year1 and you will apply online to be accepted for studies as year 1. We were directed by DHESRT to phase out and this is how it will be.
6. We sincerely apologize for further delay, but it is necessary that we do things correct and right for your graduation and employment. Please find space in schools and teach while you await these things.

The Katagu Lutheran Teachers College wishes to advise its followers and members of the college's page that it did not use it because of the abuses it received from certain people. We have identified some of them and talked to them of their abuses. The administration feels that it is time to forget the past and move on.

Today is the first time we put up the list of 40 students accepted online by DHERST to study for Diploma in Primary Teaching at this college. We sincerely welcome them all. This is because Katagu Lutheran Teachers college was registered on the 9th of August 2024. There will be good things coming and we are working very hard on them now.

The first thing that comes our way now is the graduation of students. We suggest February 13th, 2025, but that is not a good time as we have to get the Provisional Registration Certificate (PRC) from the Department of the Education and to be signed by Secretary Dr. Uke Kombra. This is another hurdle we have to get over before graduation. We told our students already, but for the sake of those out there, this is the message.

The graduation is deferred indefinitely until we sort out the Provisional Registration certificate thing and have them printed, then we will announce a day for the student to assemble and graduate. in the meantime, students can seek spaces in primary schools and teach and await their graduation. The Diploma is already available, but it is better to give both certificates.
Students who owe money to college must pay up including their graduation gown fee of K 150 .00.

For any college-imposed fees, pay only through the college bank account and the details are: BSP Bank, Account Number 7013104430 and account Name is Katagu Lutheran Teachers College.

RESUMPTION OF CLASSES

Normal classes will resume on the 17th of November (Wednesday). Boarding students are expected to return on campus between 15th-16th before classes begin.

A reminder to students with outstanding school fees, you are expected to complete your fees before returning. This also includes corporate sponsored students, check your sponsors if they have already paid your school fees. Clearance will be done when you all return.
