Send a message to Macedonia Pre-School:
The name of the Pre-School is derived from the Holy Bible, with reference to a small congregation visited and ministered to by Apostle Paul. Macedonia was a small insignificantly regarded and poverty-stricken congregation/community, paralysed by famine, diseases and war. Thus, a certain man pleads to Apostle Paul to mercifully come to their rescue and deliverance.
Therefore, it is in this light that the Macedonia Pre-School represents and symbolizes that Biblical congregation in providing a safe haven for destitute children in need of Education and care, and their unemployed parents yearning for assistance and guidance in their childrenβs upbringing.
Macedonia Pre-School is situated at the village of Stampriet, 65 Km East of Mariental town (Soetdoringlaagte Suburb, Mariental Rural Constituency, Hardap Region). In 2014, the institution started operating as a Day Care Centre with three (3) toddlers attended to. Due to a visible demand and need for such services, the number of enrolments rose to such an extent that there was a need to cater for older learners as well. Thus,in June 2016,the Centre converted to a Pre-School to groom learners in preparation for School Readiness and Formal Education.During the time of converting to Pre-School,I (Mrs Beukes)before retirement, was still formally employed by the Ministry of Education, Arts and Culture and therefore requested assistance from an unemployed Grade 12 graduate .Another assistant joined the institution, because the total of learners rose to forty (40) and separating the learners into two classrooms was necessary.
Macedonia Pre-School is indeed serving its purpose and objectives in providing an excellent Educational Foundation. However as aforementioned, challenges arise due to a lack of finances and resources to cater for the day-to-day needs of the learners. Since the majority of parents are unemployed, financial contributions are not sufficient in also providing learnerβs daily portion of meals at school. The Institution is therefore embarking on daily measures of asking for available food resources at individuals from the community to feed the learners. It is however our fervent wish and hope that the corporate entities realise their Corporate-Social Responsibility in this regard to assist us accordingly.
