Let’s welcome ourselves to the fast (electric) train called “digital transformation”. During this journey we may have various obstacles, dilemmas, but also many new opportunities. So, if the small and medium enterprises on this journey have a dilemma whether digital or soft skills are more important to them, it is similar to, for example, a parent having a dilemma about which of their two children is more important to them!? It’s simple: both types of skills are important because one without the other is meaningless.

Waste generated during the processing and consumption of the food is a global problem that negatively impacts on the environment, the social status and the economy. For sustainable global development, it is very important to manage biowaste from the perspective of a circular economy. The application of the refinery concept is significant, utilizing the biowaste to produce high value-added bioproducts, such as biochemicals and biofuels. According to the differences in the characteristics of the compounds in biowaste types, it canbe valorized by applying extraction of biologically active components, thermochemical and biochemical conversion techniques to obtain biofuels and energy.

Agricultural productivity is the keystones of agricultural development. Satellite data can be used to map the distribution, status and dynamics of agricultural production in relation to land and water resources. It provides key data for monitoring soil, snow cover, drought and crop development. Accurate information and analysis helps to predict a region's agricultural output well in advance.

At the present time, the Earth is subjected to environmental pressure of waste materials and a major proportion generated by contemporary food remains underutilized. Most of the bio-waste consists of cellulose. After purification this can be applied as a reinforcing agent in the production of bio-composites for packaging applications. Valorisation of bio-waste has increasingly attracted attention. Currently there is rapid development in various techniques.

The profitability and success of agriculture depend on balancing the inputs and outputs of the farm. Geographic Information Systems are incredibly helpful in mapping and projecting current and future fluctuations in precipitation, temperature, crop output and more. By mapping geographic and geologic features of current farmland farmers can create more effective and efficient farming techniques and this could increase food production.

GIS can analyze soil data combined with historical farming practices to determine what are the best crops to plant, where they should go, and how to maintain soil nutrition levels to best benefit the plants. Geographic Information Systems (GIS) can not only increase crop health, but help solve wider economic issues.

The Importance of the PV/PVT efficiency - Skills4Future 14/09/2022

Nowadays, renewable energy sources are more important in electric power systems. The reason is the increased price of electricity, as well as the great pollution of the environment that affects the climate changes. At the moment, despite the extremely favourable conditions and climate for the use of solar radiation in Macedonia, which compared to almost all European countries are far better, the use of solar radiation is among the lowest in Europe.

There is only one Earth planet, but we are consuming it as it there are three. Global consumption due to changing lifestyles, modernization and urbanisation is expected to be doubled in the next 40 years while the waste accumulation is going to increase for 70% by 2050 [2]. At the moment, humanity spends the equivalent of 1.6 Earth’s renewable resources in order to maintain its current way of life. It is too much than nature is able to restore; so if it continues in this way, the world be not just overpopullated but also overpolluted.

Precision Agriculture Is The Foundation For A Stronger Future! It's important that precision agriculture technology adoption is not solely about the immediate benefits of reduced fuel, fertilizer, herbicide or water use. It is about evolving the agriculture industry to a more productive, competitive and sustainable state. Precision agriculture technology that delivers both an environmental and economic benefit helps a farmer become more competitive in the international market. Plus, with a strong sustainability message, it actually helps a farmer maintain access to certain markets.
