CST Faculty

South East European University launched its proprietary artificial intelligence platform, AI@SEEU, marking a major step in digital transformation and AI integration in higher education. Developed entirely in-house, it is the first AI system of its kind in the country and region for academic and administrative use. The platform aims to enhance teaching, research, and institutional processes while also recognizing the contributions of the student development team.

Prof. Dr. Florije Ismaili, Head of the Working Group and Advisor for Academic Planning and Digitalization at SEEU, emphasized the strategic importance of AI@SEEU and its role in supporting students, academic, and administrative staff. The development team demonstrated its key functionalities and future upgrade plans, while highlighting its potential to improve efficiency, innovation, and the responsible use of artificial intelligence in education.

Universiteti i Evropës Juglindore (UEJL) vazhdon të forcojë profilin e tij ndërkombëtar, duke u renditur si universiteti më i vlerësuar nga Maqedonia e Veriut në Times Higher Education Impact Rankings 2025, një nga rangimet më të rëndësishme globale që vlerëson kontributin e universiteteve ndaj Qëllimeve të Zhvillimit të Qëndrueshëm të Kombeve të Bashkuara.

Rezultati më i rëndësishëm i UEJL-së në këtë rangim është arritur në kategorinë SDG 4 – Cilësia në Arsim, ku universiteti është renditur në grupin 401–600 të universiteteve më të mira në botë. Në këtë kategori, Times Higher Education vlerëson qasjen në arsim cilësor, përfshirjen sociale, mbështetjen për studentët, edukimin gjatë gjithë jetës dhe ndikimin e universitetit në sistemin arsimor. Ky pozicionim e bën UEJL-në universitetin më të vlerësuar nga Maqedonia e Veriut dhe universitetin shqiptar me renditjen më të lartë në rajon në këtë kategori.

UEJL ka shënuar rezultate të rëndësishme edhe në kategori të tjera të zhvillimit të qëndrueshëm, përfshirë barazinë gjinore, reduktimin e pabarazive, veprimin klimatik, paqen, drejtësinë dhe institucionet e forta. Përkushtimi i UEJL-së ndaj Agjendës 2030 dhe Qëllimeve të Zhvillimit të Qëndrueshëm dëshmohet edhe përmes përfshirjes së universitetit në Koalicionin Universitar SustainED, një iniciativë e promovuar nga Zyra e Koordinatorit Rezident të Kombeve të Bashkuara në Maqedoninë e Veriut. Ky koalicion synon të forcojë rolin e universiteteve në zbatimin e objektivave të zhvillimit të qëndrueshëm përmes arsimit, kërkimit shkencor, inovacionit, angazhimit studentor dhe bashkëpunimit me komunitetin.

УЈИЕ се потврдува како највисоко оценет универзитет во Северна Македонија во Times Higher Education Impact Rankings 2025

Универзитетот на Југоисточна Европа (УЈИЕ) продолжува да ја зајакнува својата позиција на меѓународните рангирања, позиционирајќи се како највисоко оценет универзитет од Северна Македонија на престижниот Times Higher Education Impact Rankings 2025, каде што УЈИЕ е оценет за својот значаен придонес кон Целите за одржлив развој на Обединетите нации (Sustainable Development Goals SDG).

Најзначајниот резултат на УЈИЕ во ова рангирање е постигнат во категоријата SDG 4 – квалитетно образование, каде што универзитетот е рангиран во групата од 401–600 најдобри универзитети во светот. Во оваа категорија, Times Higher Education го оценува пристапот до квалитетно образование, социјалната инклузија, поддршката за студентите, доживотното учење и влијанието на универзитетот во образовниот систем. Со ова позиционирање УЈИЕ е најдобро оценет универзитет од Северна Македонија и универзитет на албански јазик со највисок ранг во регионов во оваа категорија.

УЈИЕ забележа значајни резултати и во други категории за одржлив развој, вклучувајќи ги родовата еднаквост, намалувањето на нееднаквостите, климатската акција, како и мирот, правдата и силните институции. Овие резултати се дел од методологијата на Times Higher Education Impact Rankings, со која универзитетите се оценуваат не само преку научните публикации, туку и преку нивното влијание во заедницата, поддршката за студентите, инклузивноста и придонесот кон 17-те Цели за одржлив развој на ОН. Во овој контекст, позиционирањето на УЈИЕ ја докажува континуираната посветеност на Универзитетот кон квалитетното образование, општествената одговорност и одржливиот развој, потврдувајќи ја неговата улога како институција која ја поврзува својата академска мисија со реалното влијание врз општеството и заедницата.

Важноста на овој резултат е уште поголема поради сè посилната глобална конкуренција. Во изданието на ова рангирање за 2025 година учествуваа 2.526 универзитети од 130 земји и територии, во споредба со 2.152 универзитети од 125 земји во 2024 година.

Посветеноста на УЈИЕ кон Агендата 2030 и Целите за одржлив развој дополнително се потврдува со неговото вклучување во Универзитетската коалиција SustainED. Оваа иницијатива е промовирана од Канцеларијата на постојаниот координатор на Обединетите нации во Северна Македонија. Коалицијата има за цел да ја зајакне улогата на универзитетите во спроведувањето на целите за одржлив развој преку образование, научни истражувања, иновации, ангажман на студентите и соработка со заедницата.

SEEU Confirmed as the Highest-Ranked University from North Macedonia in the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings 2025

The South East European University (SEEU) continues to strengthen its international profile by ranking as the highest-rated university from North Macedonia in the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings 2025. This is one of the most prominent global rankings evaluating university contributions to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

SEEU’s most significant achievement in this ranking was reached in the SDG 4 category – Quality Education, where the university placed in the 401–600 bracket of the world's best universities. In this category, Times Higher Education assesses access to quality education, social inclusion, student support, lifelong learning, and the university's impact on the education system. This positioning makes SEEU the highest-rated university from North Macedonia and the highest-ranking Albanian-language university in the region within this category.

SEEU also recorded significant results in other sustainable development categories, including gender equality, reduced inequalities, climate action, peace, justice, and strong institutions. These results are part of the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings methodology, which evaluates universities not only through scientific publications but also through their community impact, student support, inclusivity, and contributions to the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals. In this context, SEEU’s positioning demonstrates the university's ongoing commitment to quality education, social responsibility, and sustainable development, confirming its role as an institution that connects its academic mission with real-world impact on society and the community.

The importance of this result is amplified by growing global competition. The 2025 edition of this ranking featured 2,526 universities from 130 countries and territories, compared to 2,152 universities from 125 countries in 2024.

SEEU’s commitment to Agenda 2030 and the Sustainable Development Goals is further evidenced by its inclusion in the SustainED University Coalition. This initiative is promoted by the Office of the United Nations Resident Coordinator in North Macedonia. The coalition aims to strengthen the role of universities in implementing sustainable development goals through education, scientific research, innovation, student engagement, and community collaboration.

We are proud to share that students from the Faculty of Contemporary Sciences and Technologies (CST) at South East European University — Samir Shabani, Menan Sali, and Muhamed Idrizi received the “Most Applicable Project” Award at the ICAMES 2026 organized by Boğaziçi University Engineering Society.

The award was presented for EmberWatch, a LoRa-based early wildfire detection system designed to support rapid disaster response and environmental monitoring in remote and forested areas. The project focuses on detecting fires in their earliest stages through distributed environmental sensing and real-time analysis using ESP32 devices, LoRa communication, and a Raspberry Pi-based backend infrastructure.

ICAMES 2026 brought together more than 100 engineering students from over 20 countries and 6 continents, creating an inspiring environment for innovation and interdisciplinary collaboration.

This achievement reflects the dedication and creativity of our CST students, with the research idea and development growing within the Max van der Stoel Institute at SEEU. Congratulations to the students, mentors, and everyone involved in this excellent achievement!

Tech2Link WP4 Training | 22–24 April 2026 | Tirana

The Tech2Link WP4 training, led by South East European University (SEEU), successfully brought together partners from across the Western Balkans and EU to strengthen capacities in technology transfer, innovation, and commercialization.

Through a combination of expert sessions, practical activities, and collaborative discussions, participants explored key aspects of technology transfer ecosystems, data-driven commercialization, AI-supported proposal development, financial sustainability, and impact assessment. The event also provided a platform for partners to present their progress and promotion activities, while reinforcing coordination through project management and quality assurance meetings.

A meaningful step forward in enhancing collaboration between academia, business, and society in the region.

Dita e Hapur në UEJL: Vendi ku formësohet karriera e së ardhmes

Në Universiteti i Evropës Juglindore sot u mbajt me sukses aktiviteti tradicional “Dita e Hapur”, duke mirëpritur një numër të madh maturantësh nga shkollat e mesme të Tetovës, Shkupit, Gostivarit, Strugës, Dibrës, Kërçovës, si dhe nga qytete të tjera të Maqedonisë së Veriut.

Të pranishëm në këtë aktivitet ishin edhe shumë prindër, të cilët së bashku me maturantët patën mundësinë të njihen nga afër me ambientin universitar, programet studimore dhe kushtet që ofron UEJL për studim dhe zhvillim profesional.

Aktiviteti nisi me hapjen zyrtare, ndërsa gjatë ditës u zhvilluan prezantime të fakulteteve nëpër stenda, ku vizitorët morën informacione të drejtpërdrejta nga stafi akademik dhe studentët. Në kuadër të programit u organizuan edhe demonstrime praktike dhe aktivitete interaktive, përfshirë simulime në laboratorin e forenzikës, eksperimente nga shkencat sociale, simulime në VR Lab, si dhe prezantime nga Fakulteti i Shkencave të Shëndetit me demonstrime të teknikave terapeutike dhe simulime të ndihmës së parë. Fakulteti I Biznesit dhe Ekonomisë mbajti Garën për Biznes Planin më të Mirë, në të cilën u prezantuan ide të shum,ta dhe mjaftë kreative nga maturantët.

Pjesë e programit ishte edhe një shëtitje në kampusin universitar, ku maturantët vizituan objektet kryesore si Rektoratin, bibliotekën, laboratorët, konviktin dhe hapësirat mësimore, duke parë nga afër funksionimin e përditshëm të universitetit.

Atmosfera u pasurua me aktivitete sportive nga Departamenti i Sportit dhe Parlamenti dhe Asociacioni Studentor, aktivitete artistike nga Biblioteka “Maks van der Shtul”, prezantime kreative dhe program muzikor, duke e bërë këtë ditë një përvojë të plotë informuese dhe argëtuese për të gjithë pjesëmarrësit.

Dita e Hapur në UEJL dëshmoi edhe një herë interesimin e lartë të të rinjve për studime cilësore dhe mundësitë që ofron ky institucion për ndërtimin e karrierës së tyre të ardhshme.

Отворен ден на УЈИЕ: Местото каде што се обликува вашата идна кариера

На Универзитетот на Југоисточна Европа (УЈИЕ) денес успешно се одржа традиционалната активност „Отворен ден“, на која присуствуваа голем број матуранти од средните училишта од Тетово, од Скопје, од Гостивар, од Струга, од Дебар, од Кичево, како и од други градови низ Северна Македонија.

На настанот беа присутни и многу родители, кои заедно со матурантите имаа можност одблизу да се запознаат со универзитетската средина студиските програми и условите кои ги нуди УЈИЕ за студирање и за професионален развој.

Активноста започна со официјално отворање, по што следеа презентации на факултетите на посебни штандови, каде посетителите добиваа директни информации од академскиот кадар и од студентите. Во рамки на програмата беа организирани практични демонстрации и интерактивни активности, вклучувајќи симулации во форензичката лабораторија, експерименти од социјалните науки, симулации во лабораторијата за виртуелна и аугментирана реалност, како и презентации на Факултетот за здравствени науки со техники за прва помош и терапевтски демонстрации. Факултетот за бизнис и економија, пак, го одржа натпреварот за „Најдобар бизнис-план“, каде матурантите презентираа бројни креативни идеи.

Програмата вклучуваше и прошетка низ универзитетскиот кампус, при што матурантите ги посетија Ректоратот, библиотеката, лабораториите, студентскиот дом и предавалните, запознавајќи се со секојдневното функционирање на Универзитетот.

Атмосферата беше збогатена со спортски активности во организација на Студентското собрание и асоцијација, уметнички содржини во библиотеката „Макс ван дер Штул“ и музичка програма, што го направи овој ден целосно информативно и забавно искуство.

Отворениот ден на УЈИЕ уште еднаш го потврди високиот интерес на младите за квалитетно образование и можностите кои ги нуди оваа институција за градење на нивната идна кариера.

SEEU Open Day: Shaping Future Careers

South East European University successfully held its traditional "Open Day" today, welcoming a large number of graduates from high schools in Tetovo, Skopje, Gostivar, Struga, Debar, Kičevo, and other cities across North Macedonia.

Many parents also attended the event, joining students to experience the university environment firsthand and learn about the study programs and facilities SEEU offers for academic and professional development.

The event kicked off with an official opening, followed by faculty presentations at various booths where visitors received direct information from academic staff and current students. The program featured practical demonstrations and interactive activities, including simulations in the forensics lab, social science experiments, VR Lab sessions, and first-aid and therapeutic technique demonstrations by the Faculty of Health Sciences. Additionally, the Faculty of Business and Economics hosted a "Best Business Plan" competition, showcasing numerous creative ideas from the visiting students.

The agenda included a guided campus tour, allowing graduates to visit key facilities such as the Rectorate building, the library, laboratories, dormitories, and lecture halls to see the university’s daily operations in action.

The atmosphere was further energized by sports activities organized by the Sports Department and the Student Parliament and Association, artistic displays by the "Max van der Stoel" Library, and a musical program—making the day both informative and engaging for all participants.

SEEU’s Open Day once again demonstrated high interest among young people in quality education and the opportunities this institution provides for building their future careers.

CST Faculty staff actively participated in the visit within the Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Program “Industrial Robotics in Practice.” Their engagement focused on strengthening collaboration with partner institutions and exploring new opportunities under the ChallengeEU initiative, particularly in the development of joint teaching modules and future degree programs in the field of artificial intelligence.

We are proud to see our students from the Faculty of Contemporary Sciences and Technologies (CST Faculty) at South East European University (SEEU) taking part in an international hands-on experience through the Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Program (BIP) “Industrial Robotics in Practice”, held from March 23–27, 2026 at Offenburg University of Applied Sciences (Hochschule Offenburg).

The program was organized within Erasmus+ and the ChallengeEU alliance as a collaborator, where SEEU collaborates closely with Offenburg University of Applied Sciences, ECAM LaSalle, and other partner universities.

During the week, our students had the opportunity to work hands-on with industrial robots at the Work Life Robotics Institute (WLRI). They engaged in practical laboratory sessions, solving real-world problems using advanced robotic systems and collaborating with peers from different countries and disciplines.

This experience provided valuable exposure to modern industrial robotics, teamwork, and applied learning in an international environment.

We are glad to see our students benefiting from such opportunities and representing SEEU in this important initiative.
