You can have half a conversation in Britain using one word:

“Alright.” 🇬🇧

Change your tone and facial expression and suddenly it means something completely different.

Which version do you hear most often?

🇬🇧 So how DO you pronounce Worcestershire?

The correct answer was #3!

But here's another British-English pronunciation trick:

SHIRE → “shy-er”

At the end of many British place names, however:

-SHIRE → “shuh”

So how would you pronounce:

Yorkshire ✅
Lancashire ✅
Derbyshire ✅

And the big one…

LEICESTERSHIRE?! 👀

Now THIS is proper British culture 🇬🇧

Four days living in a field, dancing all night and all morning... and somehow I finished Houghton Festival on 166,000 steps.

By the final day I'd lost my voice, my legs were jelly and I was absolutely brown bread. 😂

But remember: it's a marathon, not a sprint.

What does “GAFF” mean? 🇬🇧

A lot of you asked me about this one after my last British English video.

“Gaff” is an informal British word for your home or house.

But depending on who you're speaking to, you might also hear:

🏠 ’Ouse
🏠 Yard
🏠 Pad
🏠 Digs
🏠 Crib 🇺🇸
