Thanks to DAAD financial support through the Stability Pact for South Eastern Europe, several courses were organized in the last nine years. Professors and students from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering took active participation at the previous courses and before two years, for the first time, the Faculty has the honor to act as organizer of the same. We would like to emphasize the high level
of collaboration and responsiveness shown by DAAD authorities and thank them for their support of the course. The course is taking place in Ohrid, city of UNESCO, a city with great cultural and historical richness and one of the most beautiful resorts in Macedonia. The city has the honor to welcome and accommodate lectures and students from Bulgaria, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Macedonia and I hope that the cultural and social program will help in strengthening of the newly established relations and will make this course even more pleasant and interesting. We are positive that this course will be important background for an effective collaboration between the Leibniz University of Hannover on one side an the Universities from South Eastern Europe on the other. Also it will strengthen the long-term contacts between students from these countries and the same time will draw their attention to the latest achievements in science and engineering practice. We are pleased to acknowledge the valuable help of the coordinator of the project - Prof. Dr Sc Peter Stankov and Prof. Dr Gradimir Ilic for their support in organizing the course. Finally we are expressing our gratitude to our colleagues from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Skopje, as well as to the staff and the students for their efficiency and day-to-day help.
