C.B.M. It started out as a primary school, and the middle and secondary school sections were added in 19xx and 19xx respectively. Through the years, we've progressed with the times, upgrading our premises and updating our facilities. We recently celebrated 40 glorious years of lighting lamps of knowledge in young minds. In an effort to rise to the challenge of educating our students for the 21st century, the school building was recently modernised and equipped with the new teaching tools so as to employ contemporary teaching techniques. The Priyatam Dharam Sabha was first established more than a century ago by Shri Priyatamdev Sharma and Shree Harivalabhdev Sharma, in what is now modern day Karachi, Pakistan. Several high schools and primary schools, vyayamashallas and well stocked libraries were run under the auspices of the Sabha. Progressive and forward thinking, the Sabha was an advocate of education and empowerment for women, and one of the first instititions to start "narishallas". The Partition of India brought all their good work to a halt. Forced to flee Sind and what was to become Pakistan, the good people involved in funding and managing these activities were scattered and the Sabha disintegrated. A significant number of Shikarpuris sought refuge in Bombay, some of the esteemed Sabha workers among them. Even in those hard times, the will to revive the Sabha was strong - and so it was reborn, on a plot of land in Sion, Koliwada. An auspicious beginning was made with the establishment of a temple, along with a narishalla and a library. With the active involvement of the descendants of the original members, the Sabha soon expanded its activities. It was in 1972, that the Chetoomal Bulchand Murlidhar High School (C.B.M.
