🏆 Carlow Garda Youth Awards 2026 🏆
"Ordinary young people doing extraordinary things."

The Carlow Garda Youth Awards celebrate the outstanding achievements of young people aged 13–21 who make a positive difference in their communities.

We are delighted to announce that the Catering Group from Carlow Youth Training received the Group Award in recognition of their exceptional community work.
In December, the catering group organised and ran a bake sale to raise funds for Christmas gift boxes for the residents of St. Fiacc's House. This initiative was entirely the learners' idea, and they worked incredibly hard to bring it to life with the support of their Catering Tutor Keith Hoban.

After raising the funds and preparing the gift boxes, the group had the opportunity to meet the residents and personally present them with their Christmas gifts, spreading festive cheer and making a meaningful impact in the community.

The learners thoroughly enjoyed their night at the awards ceremony and were delighted to be in the spotlight, receiving well-deserved recognition for their hard work, generosity, and commitment to helping others. It was a proud and memorable occasion for everyone involved.

A huge congratulations to our award winners. Your kindness, dedication, and community spirit are truly inspiring.

Yesterday we got a head start on the National Spring clean.

Our learners and some of our Trainers worked their magic on the area around Carlow Youth Training. Well done everyone.

The National Spring Clean is Ireland’s most popular, well recognized and successful anti-litter initiative. Taking place during the whole month of April and now in its 25th year, the campaign encourages every sector of society to actively participate and take responsibility for litter, by actually conducting clean ups in their own local environment. 🗑️♻️🚮

Yesterday we had the pleasure of welcoming Jennifer Murnane O Connor TD for a visit.

It was a great opportunity for our fantastic learners to showcase their hard work and allowed them the opportunity to speak with Jennifer Murnane O Connor TD about their experiences.

It was wonderful to have the continuous hard work of our staff recognised and highlighted the need for our centre and how it changes the lives of young people from our community.

We look forward to welcoming Jennifer Murnane O Connor TD again soon.

Carlow Youth Training is a Community Training Centre working with young people aged 16–21, supporting them to gain skills, confidence, and QQI qualifications for employment and further education.
Requirements:
✔ Carpentry trade qualification (or similar)
✔ Training qualification (e.g. Train the Trainer)
✔ Relevant work experience
✔ Experience working with young people desirable

We were delighted to be invited to participate in the DSP Multisector Recruitment Event held yesterday morning at the Fairgreen Shopping Centre, Carlow.

It was a pleasure to meet some many people and to discuss their options with them.

We provided training and support for young people aged 16–21.
