As we conclude another school year, we would like to express our sincere gratitude to all members of our Parents Association. The work that goes on behind the scenes to benefit the girls in our school daily is nothing short of inspiring.

This year has been a year of tremendous growth for our lovely school and after a lot of fundraising efforts we have a “state of the art”playground for the girls to enjoy daily. The dedication of everyone’s fundraising efforts does not go unnoticed and we are all immensely grateful to everyone who has supported our school in any shape or form.

Unfortunately tonight we had to say goodbye to 2 of our longest serving members of our Parents Association 🥹 whom combined have dedicated 20 years of service to Scoil Mhuire Lourdes.

Martina Nolan & Aine Gorman have been the backbone behind many school initiatives over the years and their commitment and enthusiasm will be remembered long into the future.

Best of luck to you both going forward. You will be deeply missed, and we are grateful for everything you have done for our school community.

Finally, we wish everyone a lovely summer and we look forward to welcoming everyone back in September🫡

5th Class Historical Walking Tour of Tullow

Our 5th Class girls recently enjoyed a fascinating historical walking tour of Tullow with local
folklorist
Michael Fortune and their teachers,Ms Dillon and Ms.Conway.

During the tour, the girls visited the Holy Well on the Ballymurphy Road, the Fr. Murphy Statue in the Square, St. Columba's Church, the Mullawn Graveyard and the Church of the most Holy Rosary, learning about the rich history and heritage of our local area along the way.

It was a wonderful experience for everyone involved—interesting, informative, and full of opportunities to discover more about the stories and people that have shaped Tullow over the years.

A sincere thank you to Michael Fortune for sharing his knowledge and bringing local history to life for the girls.

Junior Infants had a fantastic day on Friday when they visited Blackwater Open Farm for their school tour.
They enjoyed petting the smaller animals, meeting the larger animals and exploring the playground.
The sand area proved to be a huge hit and was enjoyed by all.

Great to have Carlow Olympian and RDO Marcus Lawlor come to our school to present the girls with the trophy for “ Best overall girls school” in the county School relays that took place a few weeks ago.

Great to see athletics is so popular with all our girls. It has become a yearly favourite event for all the girls so they were thrilled to win this Cup 🤩
