DWP Talk - Universal Credit
Thank you to Clare from the Department for Work and Pensions - DWP for coming in today to talk to our students about Universal Credit and the process they might need to go through should they need to.

The talk was aimed to make the students aware of the support they might be able to access should they not manage to get employment in the future.

Thank you to Clare for your time today, the students benefitted from the information you gave them.

🎃👻 Something spooky is coming to Lamledge School! 👻🎃

On Friday 23rd October, we'll be celebrating Halloween with a day full of age-appropriate fun, including:

🎃 Pumpkin Patch
🧠 Halloween Quizzes
🕺 Disco
🍬 Trick or Treating

Students are welcome to come to school in fancy dress from arrival. We just ask that costumes are school-appropriate and do not contain graphic, violent or revealing content.

We can't wait to see all the fang-tastic costumes and enjoy a day of spooky fun together! 🧙‍♀️🦇🍂👻

A huge thank you to all of the parents, carers and students who attended our Post-16 Destinations Evening. It was fantastic to see so many families engaging with colleges, training providers and school staff to explore the exciting opportunities available after school.

We hope the event provided valuable information and helped students feel more confident about their next steps and future aspirations.

Destinations Evening - Reminder
Just a reminder for parents and carers of KS4 & 5 students that tomorrow is our destinations evening. 3:30pm - 5pm in the vocational block.

It is imperative that you turn up to help support your child in making a more informed decision about the next steps in their education.

The event will give you chance to speak to key staff involved in this process from school, as well as staff from the confirmed colleges and providers shown in the image!

Community Outreach - Work Based Learning
Four students from our Construction class and Oaks project group visited Wulfrun Rose - Macc Care to explore how they could help improve the garden.
After introducing themselves, they looked around, sketched ideas for planters and small chairs, and measured existing items to help plan their builds.
All four represented the school brilliantly, showing excellent manners and behaviour while developing teamwork, confidence, communication and independence.
Next up: calculating materials, comparing costs and getting ready to build once the materials arrive. We're all looking forward to what these two groups produce.

Telford College Visit
Thanks to Ange and Helen from Telford College for taking around one of our year 11 students yesterday!

The student is interested in progressing onto Telford College for their post 16 studies, so we organised with the college for us to have a bespoke tour around his subject area of interest, Art and Design.

The tour gave the student an insight into the day to day life of being at Telford College, as well as being able to see the fantastic facilities they have available in the subject they want to progress to!

Really appreciate your time with us today, it was a very useful visit.

Wolverhampton Jobs Fair
Today we took some Post 16 students to the Wolverhampton Jobs Fair at Molineux Stadium.

This event gave pupils an insight to the types of events that they can attend to help them get into employment in the future. The event had a wide range of businesses and advertising jobs in the local area that pupils could be signposted to.

Thank you to all the parents, carers and students who attended our Macmillan Coffee Afternoon yesterday. We had a great turn out with plenty of cake eaten and chats taking place, so much so that we didn't have much time to take many photos!

It is always lovely to have our school community come together to socialise. We look forward to the next event!
