This week we have welcomed some of the Pre-School Dads, and a few Grandads, for another fabulous Forest School event to celebrate Father’s Day.
Blessed with glorious weather, the children and their visitors enjoyed a few fun games before beginning their Forest School craft activity. The children then helped their Dad or Grandad make a stick photo frame. They attached four sticks together using twine and learnt how to tie a clove hitch. Using our new Polaroid camera, we took a picture of each child with their adult so it could be pegged inside the finished frame.
We thank everyone who took time out of their busy week to come and join us. Happy Father’s Day for Sunday — enjoy your day!

Last night, some of our Managers, along with a former member of the Humpties team, had the pleasure of attending The Friary School's production of Matilda.
We were especially excited to go along because we knew that several former Humpties children were performing in the show — including Daisy, who played Matilda herself! 🌟
The production was absolutely fantastic, and we couldn't have been prouder as we spotted some of our former nursery children shining on stage. It is such a joy to see the children who once attended Humpties growing in confidence, developing their talents, and thriving throughout their school years.
A huge well done to everyone involved in the production — you were all amazing!
We love hearing about the achievements of our Humpties children, past and present. If your child attended Humpties and is now accomplishing something special, we'd love for you to share it with us so we can celebrate their success with our Humpties community. ❤️

💙 Drowning Prevention Week 💙
This week, we are supporting Drowning Prevention Week and helping to raise awareness of water safety for young children and families.
Drowning can happen quickly and silently, even in shallow water. Whether you're at the beach, a swimming pool, a paddling pool, or near ponds and rivers, close supervision is essential.
Top water safety reminders:
*Always keep children within arm’s reach near water.
*Ensure children are supervised by a responsible adult at all times.
*Teach children basic water safety skills from an early age.
*Avoid distractions such as mobile phones when supervising children around water.
*Learn what to do in an emergency and how to call for help.
As we head into the warmer months, let's work together to keep every child safe around water.

This week we are shining the spotlight on our wonderful Pandas Team!
Hello, I’m Danni.
I have been part of the Humpties family for nearly 6 years. I began my journey in the Zebra Room as a Nursery Practitioner, progressed to Group Leader, and I am currently the Group Leader of the Panda’s Room. Working with children is a deeply rewarding career, and one I am truly passionate about. The absolute best parts of my role include witnessing and celebrating magical developmental milestones, building genuine emotional bonds with children, and supporting them as they grow in confidence, independence, and curiosity. Being able to make a positive difference in a child’s early years and creating a nurturing, engaging environment where they feel safe, valued, and encouraged to learn is incredibly fulfilling.
Hi, my name is Jennie, and I have been working at Humpties in the Panda Room since July 2025. So far, it has been one of the most rewarding journeys of my career. I qualified with a Level 3 Diploma in Children’s and Young People’s Workforce in 2014, and I have always had a passion for supporting young children in their early development. I particularly enjoy working with this age group as their personalities truly begin to shine. It is wonderful to watch them build friendships, develop confidence, and form strong bonds not only with their peers but also with staff members. The children learn and grow so much during this stage, and it is a privilege to play such an important role in their development and early learning experiences.
Hi! My name is Eden and I’m currently a Level 2 Early Years Practitioner based in our Panda Room, previously in our Robins Room! I have worked for Humpty Dumptys for just over 2 years, but I have experience working with ages from birth up to Key Stage 1. And I am currently studying my Level 3 Early Years whilst working. My favourite part of my job is not only seeing the children smile on arrival but also helping them to thrive and meet their milestones. I love working with children because it gives me great pleasure to know that I am helping contribute to the next generation and helping them to learn key life skills to help make them the best version of themselves. I also enjoy creating fun, engaging and messy play activities that the children can get stuck into!
Hello, I’m Charlotte and I’ve been working at Humpties for almost a year now in the Pandas Room. My favourite thing about my job is watching the children learn, grow, and develop each day. I really enjoy building strong, positive relationships with the children and their families, and being part of their early years journey is incredibly rewarding. Being a parent myself also helps me to better understand the children’s needs and support families.
Hi, I’m Georgie. I'm an Early Years Assistant, and I have been working at Humpties for 6 months and have absolutely loved my time here so far. My favourite part of the job is getting to know all the children and their personalities, as well as getting to do different crafts and activities with them all.
Hi I’m Jasmine. I’ve worked at Humpties for 6 months now and have recently moved to the Pandas room. I love helping the children meet their next steps and enjoy having dance parties with them.

Today the Giraffes children enjoyed a wonderful visit to the local pet shop!
We had the opportunity to see lots of different animals, including guinea pigs, fish, hamsters, mice, and even some fascinating little insects. We also spotted a lovely dog visiting the vets, which the children were very excited about!
The children listened carefully throughout the visit and asked great questions. We are so proud of how respectful and engaged they were. As a special treat, each child received a sticker from the pet shop staff for their excellent listening and enthusiasm.
A big thank you to the staff for making our visit so enjoyable and educational. We had a fantastic time learning about how to care for different animals! 🐾

🦔♻️ What a fantastic visit we had from Lichfield Litter Legends!
Our children enjoyed learning all about the importance of looking after our environment and keeping our community free from litter. The highlight of the session was hearing the wonderful story of ‘Lennie the Litter Legend’, a friendly hedgehog who teaches children how small actions can make a big difference in protecting wildlife and caring for the world around us.
The children were fully engaged, sharing their ideas about how they can help keep our nursery, homes, and local area clean and tidy. We loved seeing their enthusiasm for becoming little litter legends themselves!
A big thank you to Lichfield Litter Legends for inspiring our children to care for nature and helping them understand the impact litter can have on animals such as hedgehogs. 🌍💚

Hi, I'm Kerry, and I've been part of the Humpties team for just over nine years. During that time, I've worked in a variety of roles across both the Lichfield and Yoxall settings. Most of my experience has been with babies, although toddlers are my favourite age group to work with. I love spending time with the children and watching their creativity grow and flourish. One of the highlights of my role is planning and taking part in themed days—they're always great fun, and it's wonderful to celebrate these special occasions alongside the children and their families.
Hello, my name is Jess and I have been working at humpties for 6 months. I am an early years assistant in the pelicans room.
I love helping the children reach their milestones and watching them grow. I also love cuddling, playing and doing activities with them (especially messy play), making sure they are always happy at nursery.

Hi, my name is Flo, and I have been working at Humpties for over a year. During this time, I have really enjoyed building strong relationships with the children and being part of their learning and development journey. I am currently working towards my Level 3 qualification, which is helping me grow in confidence and knowledge every day. This week we are shining the spotlight on our wonderful Penguins Team!
Hi, I’m Amelia! I’ve been working at Humpties for almost four years and I’m currently the Room Leader of Penguins. During my time at Humpties, I’ve had the pleasure of caring for children across a variety of rooms, creating so many wonderful memories along the way. Being part of their early years journey and supporting them through such an important stage of their development is such a privilege.
Hi, I’m Ellie. I’m an Early Years Practitioner and I have been working at Humpties for nearly 5 years. My favourite part of the job is creating bonds with the children, there is nothing more rewarding than the children calling out your name, giving you cuddles and making you feel so loved. Working in childcare has given me so many opportunities to see how children learn and develop and the best part is getting to play, sing and read all day and feel like a child again myself. You know you’re in the right place when your job doesn’t feel like a job.
My name is Sally and I am an Early years Practitioner. I have worked at Humpties for almost 8 years. I have worked in many rooms at my time at Humpties to get experience of different ages. Our Penguins team is the best, we support each other, have fun and show being a good role model to the each child every day.
Hi, I’m Charlotte and I am an Early Years Practitioner at Humpties. I have been working in the Penguins Room for a little over a year now. My favourite part of working with the Penguins age range is seeing the children develop from having very little verbal communication to becoming confident little talkers before they move on to the next room. Every day is different, and it is so rewarding to watch the children grow in confidence and develop new skills.I really enjoy working with children because no two days are ever the same, and being part of their learning and development is incredibly rewarding. I love helping children feel safe, happy, and supported as they explore and learn through play.As a Practitioner, I feel that having children of my own brings an extra level of understanding, patience, and empathy to my role. I enjoy building strong relationships with both the children and their families and creating a warm, caring environment for everyone in the room.

Today the Pre-School children spent the morning exploring the past and developing their understanding of time before they were born!
We started by looking at old photos of our grown ups and had lots of fun trying to guess who was who. The children noticed many changes in appearance over time and enjoyed talking about how people change as they grow.
We then split into two groups for some exciting hands-on learning. One group explored old toys, feeling the different materials and discussing how toys have changed over the years. The other group travelled even further back in time to learn about children who worked to support their families in mines and as chimney sweeps. They explored our mock mine and talked about using candles to see and wearing hard hats to keep safe. We discovered just how difficult and challenging these jobs would have been.
After a while, the groups swapped activities so everyone had the chance to experience both. It was a fun, busy, and thoughtful morning full of curiosity and learning! ⭐

What an incredible day we have had at preschool! ⚽💪🥗
Today we were lucky enough to welcome former England Lioness Jessica Clarke to spend time with our children after they worked so hard raising money for ActivKids.
The children had an amazing time taking part in a fun exercise circuit, showing off their star jumps, fast legs, push ups and mountain climbers! Jess also talked to the children about the importance of healthy eating, staying active and believing that we can achieve anything we set our minds to. 🌟
The children and staff had the BEST time joining in with all the challenges and learning from such an inspiring role model. A huge thank you to Jess for visiting us and making today so special! ❤️
