Lichfield businesswoman up for national award - Lichfield Live® A Lichfield business owner has been shortlisted for a national award.

Today's Level 4 day workshop is a deep dive into how EDI presents in the therapy room♿️

This is their last full days training of year 1 before they embark on year 2 and into placement; providing vital counselling support in various charities in our community.✨️

We had some interesting discussions about the film 'Then Barbara Met Alan', and they even got to see Sharon & Hope in action; performing a demo roleplay incorporating disability, diagnosis, discrimination whilst using Solution Focused Brief Therapy!💡

We don't just teach counselling. We live it. 💜

Today our Level 4 Diploma students were introduced to a 'Trauma Informed' approach to counselling.

We explored the 'Power Threat Meaning Framework', the 'Window of Tolerance' and 'Post Traumatic Growth' - and how this is all supported by contemporary research 📚

Very well timed as they're about to venture out into placement. We certainly demistified and destigmatised this important topic ❤️‍🩹

Staffordshire Women’s Aid is recruiting for two new roles supporting women affected by domestic abuse and Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG):

🔹 Women’s Homelessness Support Practitioner (30hrs)
Supporting women at risk of or experiencing homelessness due to domestic and/or sexual violence, working closely with Housing Options teams across Stafford Borough, Cannock Chase and South Staffordshire to help secure safe and stable housing.

📅 Closing date: 9am, Thursday 2 April 2026

🔹 VAWG Support Practitioner (37hrs)
Providing specialist support to women experiencing or recovering from Violence Against Women and Girls through community-based services, multi-agency working and empowerment-focused support.
