The route to success is NOT linear … 😬

And this is what catches most people out.

They think because something hasn’t gone to plan, they’ve had a set back… or they’ve failed
That this means they can’t do it.

But that’s just what your chimp brain wants you to think. 🙊🙈

Your chimp brain is negatively bias … which mean when something goes wrong it LOVES to use it at evidence to ‘prove’ you can’t do something.

But, there is a massive flaw with your chimp brain…
It has no logic, no critical thinking and no ability to look at that moment at feedback.

It works in all or nothing thinking.
Outcome, ego driven thinking.
It does not consider the process.

And the truth is that process is going to have some bumps in the road. That route to success is going to be continuous progression.

You ARE going to have days that are 2 steps forward and 10 steps back.
You ARE going to have messy middles, hard beginnings and have to keep going again and again when it gets tough
You ARE going to be nervous sometimes.
You ARE going to doubt yourself.

And that’s all normal.
And has nothing to do with whether you can do something or not.

Embrace the highs and learn from the lows.
Keep going.
Because that bumpy path is the right one 💛

Are you a cup half full or cup half empty kind of person ? ☕️

What if I told you ‘just being positive’ will only get you so far … because we have to be able to manage our thoughts, emotions and actions whatever the external situations.

We have to be able to manage frustration, disappointment, and failure.

We have to be able to manage whatever is in our cup.

And to do that, it starts with learning to manage your thoughts, habits and reactions….

Creating better systems that allow you to be in control of your cup 🥂☕️

My 3 top tips to controlling your cup …

1) awareness - become more aware of what is taking up space in your cup/your mind! Is it helpful? Is it true?

2) drain your cup- what can you get rid of? The quickest and easiest way is write down everything that is taking up space!

3) keep some space- writing down the simple things that are taking up brain space … like your to do’s is a really easy way to keep some space

I’ll feel more confident when…
…*insert outcome goal*🤦‍♀️

I hear this so much… and I’ve been guilty of this too, it is such an easy trap to fall into!

When I’ve got to ‘insert level’, I will feel more confident.
When I’ve achieve ‘insert goal’ then I will feel more confident.

But, here’s the thing.
Outcome goals on their own don’t actually build True confidence.

Why?
Because they don’t build the systems, foundations or habits that help you sustain confidence regardless of the outcome.

They don’t give you the tools to keep adding 1% to your confidence bank.

And they don’t give your brain consistent reassurance, they put you in ‘all or nothing’ thinking!

If you want to build TRUE CONFIDENCE in yourself…
Do one thing DAILY that the confident version of you would do?

How would she show up?
What would her thoughts be?
What would she focus on?

And repeat that thing, again and again and again until it becomes a habit.

Process. Systems. Habits.
They shape who you are.
They are how you become more confident!

If you’re a rider and want to feel more confident messaged about the next live dates this month for The Confident Competition Rider Blueprint workshop series! 💛💪

Perfection is an unobtainable illusion…

But it fuels thought patterns that can hold you back from achieving your goals:

✨ All-or-nothing thinking— if it’s not perfect (a perfect plan, a perfect training session, a perfect competition), then what’s the point?
Instead of taking one small step, you focus on creating the “perfect” way to get there… but never actually start. Or you begin, have one less-than-perfect day, and stop.

✨ Procrastination— “I can’t start because…” followed by an unrealistic list of everything that needs to be perfect first.

✨ Fear of failure— if it’s not perfect, it means I’m a failure. I’m not good enough.
So you stay in your comfort zone. Instead of failing forward… you avoid it altogether.

These thought patterns don’t protect you — they hold you back.
They stop you achieving your goals and performing at your best.

As a recovering perfectionist, I know firsthand how important it is to break this cycle.

Small, consistent, actionable steps.
Process and progress > perfection 💪

Do you struggle with your confidence? …

When the results are there, you feel confident right?
You’re taking action, showing up and being consistent … because you feel confident?

What if I told you it’s the consistency that builds confidence…

It’s the habits.
It’s the actions you take when there is no evidence to back you up.
It’s the 51% belief that you can make it happen.

Confidence is NOT a product of outcomes…
They help you believe it.

BUT consistent action is what got you there💪

One of my biggest pet hates…

When coaches say ‘you need to just think positive’, ‘you need to be more motivated’ …

Yes both of these are great BUT they will NOT get you to your big goals on there own.

The beliefs you have about yourself will drive everything you do …

They drive your habits.
Your systems.
And what you do consistently.

If you focus on ensuring you believe you are the type of person who achieves your goal AND you do these 3 things…
✅Write down 10 things a person who has successfully achieved that goal would do or be like
✅Rate yourself out of 10 on each of these characteristics or habits
✅Work on the 2 that you have rated the lowest

Create habits that align with the person you want to become, create systems that make it easy and do it consistently.

That’s how you have the 1% edge.

Are you a chronic ‘should’a..? 🤔

If this is you then a lot of your thoughts will be focussed on what you feel you ‘should’ be doing, how things ‘should’ look, what goals you ‘should’ have…

You have an idea of what your life ‘should’ look like and you’re desperately chasing that…or you’re stuck.

Either way you are in fight, flight or freeze mode.
You’re likely to be burnout, or feel worthless. 🤦‍♀️

Your self esteem relies on you ticking all the boxes.
Yet even when you tick them the feeling of joy and happiness soon wears off.

Why?
Because there is a massive disconnect.
There is a gap between where you are now, and where you think you should be… so you just keep trying to close the gap.

Problem is often the gap grows, the goal posts move, it’s never quite enough.

So do we stop being ambitious, high achievers who want to chase there goals… do we just settle for the version of us now?

Absoloutely not.💪
But what you are going to have to do is CHANGE THE WAY YOU THINK.

It’s not a should.
It’s an ideal self. 💁‍♀️

Ideally this is what I want to achieve BUT, I know if I focus on my systems and my process I’ll be a damn sight closer than before … even if I don’t get there.

Cue reduced perfectionism, self sabotage, comparisons..

It’s you VS your own habits
It’s you VS your own thoughts

It’s NOT you VS the imaginary box you’re trying to put yourself into.

So cancel the word ‘should’ out of your vocab and get focussing on what you CAN actually do right now!

Happy 1st of the month…

A new month often gives you new burst of motivation to chase your goals and dreams but, what about if you could feel this everyday!

Motivation isn’t something you can rely on if you are serious about achieving your goals, it’s important to create consistent habits and systems.

This allows you to build confidence, self esteem and internal motivation (focus on the process) !

Reducing the effects of perfectionism, comparison to others, and self sabotaging behaviours!

Do it now. Change or do one thing today that you can keep doing to help you achieve your goal.

Opportunities are everywhere, everyday 💪💭
