🚧 A38 Road Closure – Travel Update for Parents

We would like to make parents aware of upcoming roadworks in the Lichfield area that may affect travel.

The A38 will be closed in both directions between Swinfen Interchange and Hilliard’s Cross from 9:00pm on Friday 27 March until 5:00am on Wednesday 8 April 2026.

These works are taking place to build the Rykneld Street bridge as part of the HS2 project, which will allow the railway to pass under the A38 and include the permanent realignment of the road.

πŸ“… The main 11-day closure will take place during the Easter school holidays, which should help minimise disruption to school journeys.

➑️ Additional information:
β€’ The Streethay northbound on-slip will remain closed until October 2026.
β€’ There will also be overnight A38 closures (both directions) from Monday 23 March to Thursday 26 March, between 9:00pm and 5:00am, for CCTV maintenance and preparation works ahead of the full closure.

πŸš— If you normally travel via the A38, please allow extra time and plan alternative routes where possible.

Team Hedgehogs had a fantastic time on their school trip to Derby as part of our Faith Trail.

During the visit, the children explored a Hindu temple, a mosque and a Gurdwara, learning all about Hinduism, Islam and Sikhism. They showed great curiosity, asked thoughtful questions and represented our school brilliantly throughout the day.

It was a wonderful opportunity to experience different places of worship, learn about diverse beliefs and deepen our understanding of the wider community around us.

Well done, Team Hedgehogs!
