Following on from Earth day our preschoolers have loved learning about the world and animals and their habitats, which led us to learn about and celebrate Sir David Attenborough's 100th birthday and all the work he does. Here is a video the children have participated in to make their own blue planet show

Since January we have had some very keen footballers.
Children have been showing us their football skills and speaking about football telling us "I'm Ollie Watkins" "Ollie Watkins plays for Aston villa." When running with the ball saying "I'm Ollie Watkins and running and dribbling the ball like him." Kicking the ball saying "and he shoots and he scores" "Ollie Watkins tackles the ball, he snatched the ball from the other players feet." "My Daddy is very good at football but doesn't play on TV like Ollie Watkins."
We have finally had some dry weather and extended on the children's interest by painting a football pitch on the playground. The children have been sharing their ideas on how to play football and rules of the game. They have also been talking about the different emotions they feel during the game - getting frustrated when they don't score and happy when they do. They have also been talking about preferences on how they prefer playing on the pitch and penalty shoot outs are a bit boring.

Over the last two weeks the children at pre-school have enjoyed learning about Chinese New Year and exploring a different culture. They have shown lots of interest in dragons and the celebrations. ๐
Today we continued our learning by tasting some Chinese foods together. The children tried egg fried rice, noodles, pak choi and prawn crackers, and they even had a go at using chopsticks.
It was a lovely opportunity for the children to experience something new, explore different cultures and develop their independence. Many of the children loved the food and asked for more! ๐

๐บ Lest We Forget ๐บ
Our wonderful preschoolers have been learning about Remembrance Day. Weโve been talking together about the brave soldiers who helped to keep us safe, and we watched the short clip โPoppiesโ on CBeebies to help us understand why we remember them. โค๏ธ
The children then created these beautiful poppy artworks, each one made with care, love, and lots of little hands at work! ๐ฟ
Weโre so proud of our children for taking part in this special day of remembrance. ๐
