🎓 From relief staff to ready for leadership... meet Abbie-Lilah!

Abbie-Lilah joined Busy Bees Great Ashby in 2021 as a relief member of staff. After around a year, she was offered the opportunity to become a full time member of the team, an exciting next step in her career!

In 2023, she completed her Level 2 qualification before going on to achieve her Level 3 apprenticeship alongside her English Functional Skills. 🌱

On Saturday 26th September, Abbie-Lilah celebrated all her hard work, dedication and commitment at her graduation ceremony, held at Stadium MK in Milton Keynes. 🎓

Joining her for this special occasion was Centre Director Lisa Stevens, who was there to celebrate her achievement and show her support. 💛

Reflecting on the support she’s received throughout her journey, Abbie-Lilah said:

💬 “They have always believed in me, encouraged me to develop skills and supported me to grow in confidence. Their guidance has helped shape me into the practitioner I am today and has encouraged me to continue challenging myself and developing within my career.”

Now, she’s ready for the next chapter. 💛

“I now feel ready to take the next step in my career and use the knowledge, experience and confidence I have gained to support both children and my colleagues in a leadership role.”

A huge congratulations to Abbie-Lilah on everything she’s achieved so far! 🎓🐝

🐝 From Lunch Cover to Centre Director: Sarah’s Journey 💛

“You never know where one opportunity might take you.”

When Sarah Krause joined Busy Bees in 2009 as lunch cover, she was simply looking for a role that would fit around her own childcare.

17 years later, she’s now stepping into her new role as Centre Director. 🌟

Her journey has been an incredible one:

✨ Lunch Cover → Qualified Practitioner → Room Leader → Third in Charge → Assistant Centre Director → Centre Director

Along the way, Sarah completed her Level 3 qualification in Childcare, developed her confidence, took on new challenges and discovered just how far a career in Early Years could take her.

💬 “You don’t have to start at the top to build an amazing career. You just need someone to give you that first opportunity and the drive to make the most of it.”

For Sarah, Early Years has always been about more than a job. It’s about the relationships built with children, families and colleagues, watching children grow and develop, and knowing you’ve played a part in their journey. 💛

Now, as Centre Director, Sarah wants to create that same environment for others — a place where people feel valued, supported and encouraged to grow.

She started with just a few hours as lunch cover.

17 years later, she’s leading the centre. 🐝

Could your Busy Bees journey start with one opportunity too?

Whether you’re looking to start as an apprentice, practitioner or experienced Early Years educator, your starting point doesn’t have to define your destination.

💛 Start your journey with Busy Bees Careers today.
