Sheepwash Farm Day Nursery Limited

Whilst out watching the combine during harvest day, we spotted a tiny little chick tucked away in the field. Moments like these are a lovely reminder that harvest about more than bringing in the crop - it’s also a time to look out for the wildlife that shares our countryside. 🐤 🚜

Another year another harvest. 🚜 This week, the children had the exciting opportunity to experience harvest time first-hand by climbing aboard a real combine harvester. They loved exploring the impressive machinery and learning about the important role it plays in bringing in the crops.
Through this hands-on experience, the children gained a greater understanding of the harvesting process, discovering how crops travel from the field and how the combine works to collect the grain. It sparked lots of curiosity, conversations, and questions as they observed the machinery up close and learned about farming in our local community. Real life experiences like these help children make meaningful connections with the world around them, encouraging curiosity,language development, and an appreciation of where our food comes from.

This week our children have been busy building beaches using different materials. This encouraging fine motor skills and opportunity to practice hand eye coordination. 🐚 🐳 🏝️

Our Rising 2’s have been busy little bookworms with Aimee and Kelsey, enjoying lots of Usborne books as part of our Usborne sponsored read, helping to inspire a love for reading in children 📚 Even the chickens wanted to join in with story time, which the children found absolutely hilarious! We also had a wonderful adventure with Farmer Rob, climbing aboard the tractor and trailer before sharing stories together in the blue bell woods!! Reading outdoors made our stories even more magical 🚜 📚

It’s been a busy weekend at Sheepwash as we’ve started painting to give our setting a fresh new look! We can’t wait to reveal the finished result- Watch this space for the big transformation! 🫟

Today our Crawlers and Walkers have been busy washing cars! This supports the children to: 🚗Hear and respond to simple words such as wash, splash, wet, and clean. 🚙 Develop hand-eye coordination and control when washing different parts of the car. 🚘 Builds confidence through exploring water and trying new experiences

Nature pizzas! 🍕 🇮🇹 Our Rising 2’s having been busy creating pizzas using natural materials to encourage sensory exploration, fine motor control, and promote communication and language through new key words.
