Developing continuous vibrato using ‘hot taps’.
This is to ensure when passing vibrato from one finger to the next we are not squeezing the new finger into the fingerboard whilst also keeping the vibrato loose and relaxed on the ‘old’ finger.
Recently I attended Pedagogy Day by and I really liked her term of ‘hot taps’ (via Galamian) for this finger motion.

We have finally reached the end of the academic year and I wanted to say a big well done to all of my students I have taught this year for their commitment, growth and success.
In my own studio as well as my class of students at Sheffield Music Academy, there has been so many wonderful moments of development, music-making and achievement - right from small technical accomplishments through to success in exams, performances and auditions.
As a teacher who is passionate about developing and mentoring musicians, I am very lucky to have such wonderful students.
