We provide care and education to children from all over Scotland, who have had a challenging start. Harmeny is a place to live and a space to thrive.

We offer therapeutic care and education to children aged 5-18, on a residential and day basis. Our school and cottages are all based on one campus, on the outskirts of Edinburgh.

๐Ÿšตโ€โ™€๏ธ What a experience on the trails! ๐Ÿšตโ€โ™‚๏ธ

Earlier this week, we were delighted to host the Edinburgh Schools Mountain Bike Championship once again, welcoming a record 160+ young riders from schools across Edinburgh.

With exciting racing, a brand-new course and plenty of encouragement between riders, it was fantastic to see so much determination, confidence and teamwork on display.

A huge thank you to Edinburgh RC, the City of Edinburgh Council, Scottish Cycling, the team and everyone involved behind the scenes. Thanks to the brilliant coordination across all the teams involved, it was a fantastic day from start to finish.

Well done to every rider who took part! ๐Ÿ‘

Today, on International Day of Play, weโ€™re reminded why protecting play means protecting childhood.

For all children play is essential - helping build confidence, unlock creativity, develop friendships and form the foundations for learning.

You can give the gift of play this summer by supporting our Play Appeal. Your donations will create therapeutic play and activity spaces where children and young people who have experienced early years trauma can socialise, relax and thrive.

As we come to the end of we'd like to recognise the achievements of Harmeny's longest serving volunteer, Ron Smith, who retired from his woodwork instructor role in April.

For 40 years, Ron has dedicated his time, skills and kindness to supporting generations of young people at Harmeny.

From one-to-one woodwork sessions to helping raise millions for vital developments, Ronโ€™s impact on the Harmeny community has been extraordinary. His work has always been about more than practical skills, itโ€™s been about creativity, confidence, care and connection.

Thank you, Ron, for everything you have given over the decades. ๐Ÿ’™

Our lovely volunteers from NatWest property services and the High Constables put in some incredibly hard work last week helping to build our new multi bay compost system. A physically demanding task involving shifting large, heavy concrete slats into place, their help enabled us to get the job done in two days rather than two weeks without them! ๐Ÿ’ช

The composting system is essential for our large community garden and estate, enabling us to manage large quantities of organic waste. Giving us compost for better soil health as well as cost & environmental savings! ๐ŸŒฑ๐Ÿชฑ๐ŸŒŽ

Fabulous teamwork and a brilliant job done - huge thanks to all! ๐Ÿ™
