Active Kids Day Nurseries

It’s that time again 🥹📚🎓
This afternoon we had our graduation party to celebrate our school leavers. The children sang 3 songs that they’ve been practicing and we had a little party. We wish you all the very best in school from everyone here at Rocking Horse ⭐️

The Investigators have been observing their butterflies and learning what they need at this stage of the life cycle 🦋💕

⚽🌍 We've been enjoying some World Cup-themed learning, exploring countries, flags and cultures from around the world. A great week of fun including learning facts about the countries, creating flag pictures and footballers as well as playing football. We plan to continue this learning throughout the World Cup and the children look forward to learning more as well as following and recording the scores 🏆✨

This morning, we went into Portobello to visit the annual taxi parade ! We had great fun seeing all of the decorated taxis and people from the local community showing support 🥰🚕🚨

Investigators are excited to be learning about the life cycle of a butterfly with the arrival of our caterpillars. We look forward to observing the life cycle together and there has been lots of discussion around this already 🐛🦋💛

The Explorers have been enjoying getting out and about this springtime. Whilst out, we have been collecting lots of little spring flowers. Today, we painted in the same colours as our flowers and the babies used their fingers, brushes and the flowers as resources for this 🎨🌸🌼

This morning, some of us enjoyed an outing the Portobello Beach where we saw a puppet parade as well as playing in the sand before lunch time ☀️🐙

This week, Investigators have started their topic of mini beasts and have been on various walks to Figgate Park to hunt for insects as well as studying insects in the garden. There has been a lot of discussion time about the different insects and the children have been drawing and writing for the display 🐜🐞🦋🪱

We are super excited to welcome everyone back into our freshly renovated baby room. Thank you for all of your support and understanding whilst we were at the Town Hall 🤍👩🏻‍🍼🧸

Portobello you have given us wonderful memories and a fantastic space for our children to explore but now it’s time to go home 🏠.......
