Welcome to storytime with 'Gruffalo Granny'!

We're thrilled to be partnering with Macmillan Children’s Books to publish our British Sign Language (BSL) translation of 'Gruffalo Granny', helping ensure BSL users have equal access to the latest adventure from the much loved Gruffalo.

Signed stories are a great way for children and families who use BSL to share the joy of storytelling. They're also a powerful tool to support language development and literacy in the early years.

Button batteries can badly hurt or kill a small child. If they swallow one and it gets stuck in their food pipe, it can burn through the tissue and cause life-altering injuries or death.

That’s why it’s so important to check that button battery compartments on products are safely secured before giving to a child.

Today is International Literacy Day.

Literacy gives people greater choice, independence and access to opportunity. Yet 739 million young people and adults worldwide still lack basic literacy skills.

At Peeple, we know that the foundations of literacy develop long before children can read or write. Talking, singing, sharing books and telling stories all help children build their listening, communication and language skills.

Children can often ‘talk’ a story before they can read or write one. Try using a familiar or favourite story as the starting point for making up a new story together. It’s a simple, enjoyable way to encourage conversation and imagination.
