* IMPORTANT UPDATE *

Hello lovely clients and followers. I'm officially closing bookings for the rest of the year with the hope of coming back late winter/early spring 2022 🤞

The second half of this year has been a struggle with my mental health that has gained more and more traction as the nights have come in, and I'm at the point where I need to listen to the doctors and take a proper break!

Thank you to everyone who has come for sling consultations, booked into sling library events I've run, or attended my online parenting workshops this year. My favourite part of this role is and always will be supporting families to grow, and it is always a joy to be part of your parenting journey ❤

Absolutely beautiful photo from this morning's consultation 💗

This wee one has been using this ring sling for around 7 months, and it was lovely watching how happy she was to go in - and immediately cuddled in for a sleep!

Why we practise with dolls: 👇👶🏽

During sling consultations we usually start learning with dolls, and for this reason it can be really useful to have someone else with you to help look after your little one and meet their needs

Using a doll for practise helps you:
✨ focus on the technique, not your baby
✨ feel more confident trying something new
✨ have time to problem solve when something has gone wrong with the technique
✨ get used to the weight and feel of a baby on you before adding movement and needs!

A lovely full consultation this afternoon with a returning client 💗

Our focus today was finding a sling for mum and a sling for dad. Often it's expected that families will have 1 sling of choice, but actually slings are so individual that what we each look for in a sling to feel comfortable and confident is often different from our partner! 🤓

Baby's dad was looking for something quick and simple which felt secure without much adjustment, while baby's mum was looking at ring slings for carrying and feeding in!🤱🏻

Love the look of ring slings? Book in a consultation with me to learn about how to use them, safety and tips and tricks, and then borrow one of the ring slings to try them out for yourself!

Ring slings are an excellent versatile carrier for a Scottish summer:
🌞 a single layer of fabric makes them great for the heat
🌞 the tail can be wrapped back over baby if it's a little chillier

A really lovely start to my day with a 90 minute garden sling consultation with a mummy baby and grandad! ❤

We worked with dolls the whole time as the wee one was mostly sleeping - this is actually a really great way to learn! You can focus on what your hands and the sling are doing instead of on your baby, and get confident with the steps before putting them in!

Having another family member with you is always lovely too - grandparents make wonderful babywearers, and having someone to meet baby's needs gives you more hands on time with the slings! 🌞

We sorted out a hire at the end too with my The Bonnie Sling Library stock! Trying on slings with fitting support is great - Helen had an idea of what she wanted to try and ended up loving something completely different!

We cover safety, (including carrying in variable weather conditions), comfort for baby/toddler and yourself, fitting your sling well and wee tips and tricks. You'll get given handouts to keep!

I am a trained babywearing peer supporter, feeding and carrying advocate and sling consultant and 💜 helping families carry!

Hello ... strangers! 🙈

If you've been here a while you may have noticed me disappear for a wee while! I've still been working behind the scenes - running the ToddlerCalm Parenting course (which concludes this Sunday) with a great group of insightful parents, and running Sling Library sessions at The Bonnie Sling Library - meeting lots of slingy parents & babies! 🌈

I absolutely adore working with families and it's been so lovely to meet and support many in the last few weeks online and in person! 😊

I've had a well needed social media break, but I'm inspired by to show back up here 👋
