We are delighted to share that Niamh Green will be joining St George's as our next Head.

At St George's, our girls grow fearless and free. Niamh has spent the last 22 years in girls' schools, at Woldingham, Sherborne Girls, Godolphin and Mayfield before becoming Head of Roedean, where 2024 brought the school's best A-level and GCSE results in a decade.

She takes up the role in next year, succeeding Carol Chandler-Thompson, who leaves to become Director of Education for a global schools group and will stay connected to St George's as a Member of Council.

We will share more on the handover in the coming months.

On Saturday, our Head Students enjoyed a Leadership Conference with students from our sister school, St Margaret's School, Aberdeen.

Students were inspired by Lorna Moffat's insights into leadership, which encouraged girls to recognise their own strengths, while identifying skills to develop throughout the year in Prefect roles.

In a world where only 7% of CEOs are women, girls experiencing their formative years in an environment where every leadership role is filled by a woman, has a transformative effect. Because the pipeline to becoming a fearless woman, begins at school.
