What subject could possibly be greater than God Himself?

As a new term approaches, we can’t wait to get back to studying the great truths of God’s Word with new and continuing students at The Faith Mission Bible College.

Spurgeon was right: there is no greater subject for the mind, heart and soul than God Himself — Father, Son and Holy Spirit — and Christ crucified.

The quote is from Spurgeon’s sermon, The Immutability of God.

Could you give one day a week to study the Bible, theology and ministry skills?

If you want to understand the Bible more deeply, grow in your faith and become better equipped to serve, our Foundation Certificate in Applied Theology could be for you.

Every Tuesday during term time, students come together at The Faith Mission Bible College in Edinburgh for a full day of in-person study, worship and fellowship.

Across the course, you’ll study the Old and New Testaments, theology and church history, while also developing practical skills for Christian service through subjects including biblical interpretation, preaching, evangelism, apologetics, discipleship, leadership, pastoral care, children’s and youth ministry, prayer and revival, and more.

But studying in person means there’s more to the day than the classes.

You’ll begin with college devotions, learn face-to-face from experienced lecturers, and share coffee, lunch, conversation and Christian fellowship with others who also want to know God’s Word and serve him more faithfully.

📍 In person in Edinburgh
🗓 Tuesdays during term time
📚 Normally completed over two years — or spread over four years if you need greater flexibility.

And living further away doesn’t necessarily rule it out. Monday-night accommodation at the college can be booked, allowing you to travel to Edinburgh the day before and head home after classes on Tuesday.

Perhaps it’s time to make Tuesdays your Bible College day?

Applications close Monday 31st August.

“My favourite day of the week at Bible College is Tuesday…”

Our Academic Dean, Dr Russell Newton, explains why he particularly looks forward to Tuesdays - the day our Foundation Certificate in Applied Theology students join us at FMBC.

We begin the day together as a college community with worship, the Word and prayer in morning devotions.

Then it’s into a morning of classes, going deeper into subjects such as Old and New Testament, Christian theology, church history, pastoral care and children & youth ministry - with plenty of time for fellowship and conversation over coffee and lunch too.

In the afternoon, the focus turns particularly to understanding the Bible and becoming better equipped to teach it faithfully to others.

Bible teaching. Theology. Worship and prayer. Fellowship. Practical equipping for Christian service.

If that sounds like how you’d like to spend your Tuesdays, why not join us?

Our Foundation Certificate in Applied Theology is a two-year, part-time course, meeting in person at The Faith Mission Bible College in Edinburgh on Tuesdays during term time.
