Thanks for your enquiry, the difference from Leroc to Ceroc is that Ceroc is a dance company that teaches Leroc French jive but changed the “L” to a “C” because you can’t copyright the name of a dance so if you change the name it can be copyrighted and no one can use the name “Ceroc” except Ceroc them selves’ they have also changed the name of French Jive to Modern Jive, this way you can do whatever you like when it comes to the moves and without worrying about the footwork.
But as you may know that Ceroc can be a fun place to go for a dance and is a very successful dance company and I would highly recommend Ceroc as a fab night out.

Leroc is the name of a dance and like any other partner dance it goes by a footwork syllabus like Salsa, Ballroom Jive, Waltz, West Coast Swing, Lindyhop, Foxtrot and many more.

It started after the occupation in France. It is a fusion of Rock N Roll, Jive, Swing, Lindy Hop, Charleston, Jitterbug, JI Jive and more, as these dances have a footwork syllabus, this is why Leroc is taught with a footwork syllabus.

The down side is that most Leroc Teachers don’t know the footwork as many have learned their dancing from Ceroc and very few Leroc teachers teach the footwork.

If I go to a partner dance class I would expect to be taught the footwork.
