Linguistics and English Language Postgraduate Conference 2025
4-6 June 2025, Edinburgh

The Linguistics and English Language Postgraduate Conference is an annual event open to students and recent graduates from all over the world. With over 30 years of experience, the conference offers a great opportunity to refine thoughts, share concerns, and receive constructive criticism in a supportive and convivial environment.

All talks, workshops and social events are in person. No online/hybrid options available. All presentations are scheduled for 20 minutes, followed by 10-minute period for questions.

Not long now!! Here's the schedule of events for the 30th LELPG conference next week. The full schedule is available for download from our website, link in bio.

The conference ceilidh will be a lively night of Scottish dancing with the fabulous band and don't worry there will be instructions!

As the event starts so soon after the conference finishes there is no dress code, come in what you wore for the conference, or in a kilt, or a unicorn costume. Anything will do!

You also do not need to come to the conference to attend the ceilidh it is open to all LEL staff and PG students.

Registration for LELPGC24 is open! The conference is free to attend but if you'd like lunch please register using the link in our bio by 1700 on Monday 13th of May.

The main social is the conference ceilidh on the 3rd of June at 1900 in the Counting House - any LEL PG or staff is welcome to attend (regardless of whether you come to the conference itself). Tickets are £15.

Abstract submissions are now open for LELPGC2024!

Please submit your abstract via the link below by 23:59 on Sunday 7th of January 2024.

Abstracts are welcome from any area of linguistics. They should be based on research completed during a postgraduate degree (you are still welcome to submit if your programme has now finished).

Abstracts should be uploaded as an anonymised pdf of no more than 500 words including examples. Titles, bibliography, and tables/figures will not count towards the word limit. Figures and tables are welcome but please ensure no more than 2 are included with your abstract. Please provide glossing for any examples not presented in (Present Day) English.
