🎉 Join us as we celebrate 60 years of scientific diving at Heriot-Watt!

The final event in our anniversary series will take place on 25 September at our Edinburgh campus, bringing together current and former divers, colleagues, students, alumni and friends to reflect on six decades of underwater exploration, research and discovery from our Orkney Campus.

🌊 From supporting the Flotta oil development in the 1970s to carrying out pioneering marine research, Heriot-Watt’s Diving Team has built a remarkable legacy in Orkney.

The event will be an opportunity to hear stories from across six decades and celebrate the people and research behind Heriot-Watt’s scientific diving journey.

Have you ever wondered what gives some whiskies their tropical taste?

Researchers at Heriot-Watt University have been getting to the bottom of a flavour mystery, identifying compounds that could help explain the tropical fruit notes found in some whiskies.

The research could offer new insights into how wh**ky develops its distinctive flavours and help producers better understand and control the character of their spirit.
