Fully fashioned bespoke Highland Tartan Kilt Hose knitted to match own tartan. Fully fashioned bespoke Tartan Kilt Hose knitted to match individual tartans.

The fully fashioned tartan hose are produced on a flat-bed knitting machine using the manufacturing method of intarsia, which allows me to customise them for all leg shapes and sizes. They are then linked together with a back seam and represent the traditional tartan hose produced for almost 160 years in Scotland. I have been producing bespoke tartan and diced hose since 1990 for individual client

A wee flyer from 1995. Wonderful day out with friends. A wee while later I would find out about my fellow clansman Captain Felix O'Neill an Officer with the Spanish Regiment de Hibernia sometimes called O'Neills Regiment sought permission to fight for the Jacobite cause with the French. He broke through the blockade on the Firth of Forth with artillery and gold and also bringing years of his military experience. Ultimately at the end after Culloden he would convince the Hanoverian sympathiser Flora MacDonald to aid the Prince. He had kept Charlie alive through near captures and then hatched the Betty Burke plan to get him out.

Here's a great idea illustrated here with diced hose for a customer in the USA. Instead of matching the whole tartan just pick two of the dominant colours.

Diced hose a great alternative to the Argyle patterns, especially for busy set's of tartan.

Had the pleasure recently of bringing a customers idea of interpreting a pattern he found in an old catalogue from the early 20th century advertising golf hose which cross over well with argyle and diced hose patterns for kilts.
The idea was to make a simpler version of the Gordon sitter hose in the Macleay portrait's.
So a blue/grey and black background marl with pink and black lines was picked.
A great way to offset your kilt as it doesn't always have to be about strictly matching colours in your tartan.

Had the chance to produce some more castellated Gairloch pattern hose this time in ecru and brown.

1840's Gairloch replicated design hose with their dicey pals. A marathon session hand stitching the castellations but worth it. Lovely commission for a special weave tartan from the Andrew Elliot mill in Selkirk, where I used to get my yarn spun together, once upon another life ago.
