FUNDING MATURE IT TRAINING COURSES IN EDINBURGH!
Rotary Edinburgh was delighted today to present a cheque for £1500 to Edinburgh based charity, ACE IT Scotland, which will help fund new IT equipment for training mature people in IT skills.
It’s widely recognised today that older people are at risk of being excluded from our digital society. Devices can be complicated, and navigating websites and apps can be daunting. Research shows that improving digital literacy substantially improves wellbeing, reduces isolation and loneliness plus improves a person’s financial health.
ACE IT is an Edinburgh charity which has been helping older people learn digital skills and get online with confidence since 2005, supporting anyone over the age of 50 to use digital devices through one-to-one coaching at locations across Edinburgh.
ACE IT also delivers weekly activities sessions for residents of care homes through its ‘Moose in the Hoose’ service.
Niall Finlayson, chair of the Rotary Club of Edinburgh Jubilee Charity Fund presented the cheque to Iain Couper, manager of ACE IT Scotland.
P.S. ACE IT Scotland was recently awarded the King’s Award for Voluntary Service 2025 – the highest honour for volunteer groups in the UK! Well done, guys!
