New video: Carers, have you seen how blood pressure is measured using the Doppler methodology in cats? If not, you might enjoy this three minute annotated video which has just been added to our website.

Gorgeous Tizzy was a model patient: her hypertension (high blood pressure) was identified during a check-up when her carer reported some behaviour changes including increased vocalisation, especially at night. Tizzy's average systolic blood pressure readings were 210-220 mmHg pre-treatment but reduced successfully following treatment with amlodipine. Tizzy was 17 at the time her hypertension was first diagnosed. This video was recorded about 6 months post diagnosis during a routine monitoring visit, readings were all normal on this occasion.
