Our ducks have been enjoying their final little adventures around the nursery yesterday while the children explored, learned and supported their development along the way 🦆💛

We have truly loved having the ducks as part of nursery life, and the wonderful learning opportunities they have brought for both the children and staff. From observing how they grow and develop to caring for them each day, they quickly became a very special part of our daily routine.

The children loved watching them gain confidence and personality each day, creating lots of lovely memories along the way. Both the children and staff will certainly miss having the ducks around the nursery every day.

We’re also very happy to share that the ducks have been adopted by one of our colleague’s grandparents, where they’ll continue to be very well cared for. We’re hoping to receive plenty of updates as they settle into their new home — so watch this space! 🏡✨

“Like ducks to water…” 🦆💦

Yesterday was a very exciting day at nursery as our ducklings took their very first dip in the big pool! Safe to say, they were naturals from the moment their tiny feet hit the water.

The children loved watching them paddle, splash and explore with such confidence, asking lots of questions about the ducklings’ development and how their bodies are perfectly designed for the water — from their waterproof feathers to the way water rolls straight off their backs.

A lovely little reminder of how quickly young minds (and ducklings!) grow when given the chance to explore, play and build confidence in new experiences.

🐣 Exciting news from us… our ducklings have arrived! 🦆💛

We’re so thrilled to welcome these adorable little ones, and we can’t wait for the children to be part of this special experience.

Over the coming days, the children will have the opportunity to:
✨ Observe the ducklings up close
✨ Learn about their life cycle and how they grow
✨ Help care for them in a gentle and supervised way
✨ Build confidence, curiosity, and respect for living things

This hands-on experience is a wonderful way to bring learning to life and create lasting memories. We’ll be sharing updates as the ducklings grow, so keep an eye on our page!

Their design stood out because it was truly a team effort — every child took part by adding their own ring and fingerprint, creating a beautiful, collaborative piece of festive art. ❤️

We loved seeing the creativity, teamwork, and joy that went into this design, and we can’t wait to share it as our official Little Lunches Christmas card for 2025.
