Today Benny took some students up the East coast to Dunnotar castle, a ruined medieval fortress. The remaining buildings date back to the 15th and 16th century.
More trips to come 😍✈️

This is a really useful word to know and so easy to use in essay writing ✍️

Nice descriptive adjective for speaking and of course review writing ✍️

I feel like im sharing all the positive vocabulary this week 😳😅

Hopefully you’re not having a Blue Monday! A hot Monday is much more likely 🥵

Starting off the week with a not so positive piece of vocabulary 😂 I hope you never have to use it in your personal lives!!

Great phrasal verb and you will often hear it in this context- pop up shops for instance are really common during the Summer 🏬

Word of mouth is what grew my business and I’ll be forever grateful! 🥰💛🔥

Love this word!

On the hunt for: common prepositional phrase at C1 level!

Anyone feeling stuck in a rut? My advise is book a trip, move around the furniture in your flat and get out in the sunshine!! 😂🙌🏻

Ok it’s Saturday but this is such a hot topic that I had to share…

This is a really nice one because I feel like I have taught ‘die out’ a lot, which is when something is extinct already whereas die off means that it is in the process of becoming extinct. This is also a nice example because you can see that it refers to a tradition rather than a plant/animal!

As a parent there is nothing scarier than when your child starts coughing and for a moment you think they might be choking 😅💀

This expression is often used as ‘the final nail in the coffin’ meaning that a lot of bad things have happened but this is the last and ultimately the worst to date.
I was getting sick of my job but when pay cuts were announced it really was the final nail in the coffin!

To have a take on something, not to be confused with the phrasal verb take something on! 😅👀
Did you read the article? I thought that the journalist had such an interesting take on the crisis.

Such good environment vocabulary for exams and for life in general 😍

Having a look at prices in Edinburgh, I would say that tourism is booming again!

Is reality tv your guilty pleasure? Is it a good form of escapism?

An easy one to use in your speaking exam:
Moving to the UK was a milestone for me because…
Passing the exam would be a significant milestone in my language learning journey…

IELTS academic exam coming up? This one is for you! Part of the writing is where you have to interpret visual information like a graph, and this kind of vocab is essential! ✍️

Great one for your problem/solution style essay ✍️

Prepositional phrase, and a useful one! Jobs are on the line, their relationship is on the line..these would be strong collocations with this expression 🙌🏻

A flop, an epic fail… it’s never good!!

Great informal 🙌🏻 really easy to use in the speaking part of your

Good money vocabulary and prepositional phrase with ‘out’

ICELAND, one of the beautiful countries that we will visit on this 45-day trip 🤩
✨Fact: From mid-June until early July, the sun only sets for around 2 to 3 hours in the Reykjavik area. This decreases the further north you travel. 🌞
✨Fact: Winter is pretty special in Iceland - thanks to the Northern Lights, a spectacular light show in the skies above Iceland when the conditions are just right. ❄️♥️
